Are you syncing it to your phone or your desktop computer? Does the device you are using to sync it have the correct time zone and time?

Allow me to help you @LisFeger! One thing, I would like you to check is that you have automatic timezone set in your phone and app.
To do so in the Fitbit app do the following:
- Go to your Dashboard > Tap on account > Tap on the gear icon that's in the right corner
- Enable "Automatic time zone"
I have these steps to enable automatic time zone in my Android phone but it may be different for each phone model:
- Settings > Date and time > enable automatic time zone
