I have been running v. 2.72 for a couple of days and am disappointed to note that the distance recorded for my tracked GPS activities - cycling and walking - continues to under-record by between 8-10%. The App correctly maps my rides and walks, it is only the mileage that is incorrect.
This issue has been going on intermittently for months now, since at least the v.2.66 update, and I am wondering when is it going to be resolved, assuming Fitbit are working on a fix?

Hi @Marc_PL, good to see you are visiting the Fitbit Community. My apologies for the late response and thank you for your feedback regarding the distance keeps dropping.
I'm wondering how are you tracking your exercise, is it with Connected GPS or is it through the Mobile app feature MobileRun?
By the look of your post, I can assume you have tried already some troubleshooting steps to address this concern. So, Just as a matter of review, I would like to share the following article for some extra help: Why isn't GPS working on my Fitbit device?
If by any chance you are using connected GPS, keep in mind the environment in some scenario may produce low signal to connect with GPS. If this is the case your distance may dropped for instances causing an inaccurate distance measure.
There is also a new version of the app, which I'm sure you already have installed. If the issues persists I would recommend a rest on your app:
Log out from your Fitbit app and go to your phone settings. Access to the App manager option and look for the Fitbit app in your downloaded apps list. Once you are there, clear the app cache and data and proceed to "Force Stop" the app. (This may vary depending of the Android device and the OS version)
Finish the workaround by restarting your phone. When your phone has initialized, go back to your app and try again.
See you later and hope this get you back on track.

Thanks for your detailed response @RobertoME.
I always track my cycle rides and walks using connected GPS and asides from occasional blackspots where the GPS signal is weaker, I have found GPS to be reliable in my location.
I also track my rides using the Urban Biker App, which uses my phone's GPS subsystem directly rather than relying on Google's location service for GPS, and I have experienced no GPS issues with this App.
Fitbit accurately uses GPS to map the routes of my cycle rides and walks but it is the distance recorded that continues to be inaccurate.
Yes I have been running v.2.71.1 since my App updated several days ago and I can confirm that the distance recorded for my tracks is still inaccurate.

My Charge 2 is the same. I ran a 2.1 mile loop of my village today. Map my run logged it with GPS accurately yet my fitbit app says it was only 1.8 miles & then synced it incorrectly to my Strava app. Previous fitbit logs of this loop have been accurate, so I'm not sure why it's playing up again.

I'm having the same issue. My GPS reported 6.2 miles walked today, consistent with the Google maps mileage. The app shows only 5 miles. The same thing happened yesterday. The phone app under reported about 2 miles of walking. Why is the actual mileage getting reduced when it transfers to the app? My mileage for today in my app just went from 5 miles to 3.16 miles. What's going on with the transfer of information to the app?
