I'm tired of trying to find the solution to this by searching the internet....brand new aria 2 not showing body fat percentage ...yes I'm stepping on it with bare feet...and I've already tried taking out the batteries and weighing myself 5x in a row...Super frustrated right now. This isn't a good start if I already have to troubleshoot after taking it out if the box. 😭

I just got this scale not even a week ago and I’ve been having the same issue I regret buying it

It's very annoying...I received it as a birthday present and I didn't use it right away so I doubt that person still has the receipt so I'm prob stuck with a scale that does nothing more than what my old cheap scale did

I think I still have my receipt if I find it I’m going to take it back it’s a waste of money

@Pdaniels @Anac30 Welcome to our Fitbit Community! I'm sorry for the late response. However, I appreciate the time you took in trying the recommended troubleshooting steps. I would like to help you and turn this bad experience into a good experience.
Please let me know if your scales are placed on a hard surface and you are stepping on them barefoot. Also, make sure that your profile settings (height, weight and gender are correct).
Looking forward to your response!

@DebbieWeir I see that you joined our Fitbit Community recently. Welcome aboard! I'm sorry to hear that your Aria 2 is not providing accurate body fat percentage. Thank you for troubleshooting this issue before contacting our forums.
I would like you to try one more workaround that will help me to proceed accordingly. Please restart your Aria 2 by taking out the batteries for 15 seconds and put them back in. After this, set up your scale from scratch. Finally, weigh yourself 5 times in a row again and see if the issue gets fixed.
@Pdaniels I'm so glad to hear that you were sent a replacement unit. Thank you for posting the update here. Don't hesitate to get back if more assistance is needed.
See you guys later!

@LSchuldt I see that you joined our Fitbit Community recently. Welcome aboard! I'm sorry to hear that your Aria 2 is not providing body fat readings even though you stepped on it barefoot and your profile settings are correct.
Please make sure that your Aria 2 is placed on a hard surface. After this, remove the batteries for 15 seconds and put them back in. Finally, weigh yourself 5 consecutive times and see if your scale provides body fat readings.
Keep me posted on the outcome!

Hi JuanJo,
I went through all of those processes twice yesterday without success. I’ve been using Fitbit products since 2014. Usually I am quite happy with the products. Unfortunately this scale is quite disappointing.
Thanks-Lisa

I took my Aria 2 back where I bought it to see see if it would work a little better. This 2nd Aria 2 is performing the same as the first one. But, here's the thing: I can see my weighin's on my phone now. I am not sure if I need to see my BMI and fat %. Just for the fact of tracking my weight on my Iphone is very exciting. Until I know what the problem is about my BMI and fat% not syncing, I will continue using the Aria 2 even though I am always seen as a guest when I use the scale. I am the only one using my scale. I completely understand every hoop to jump through to troubleshoot why the BMI and fat% doesn't show. I got educated the last two days in this community and elsewhere. I finally got the scale to work properly and witnessed the actual performance as it was meant. Now that I know how the scale should act, I can solve problems a little easier. While standing on the scale, your BMI and fat% will show. The screen on your scale will not show the toes that say to get off. Instead, the Aria 2 screen information will last for about 30 seconds or more before sending information to your phone. This is how the Aria 2 is supposed to act. Some may not get the BMI or fat% report from your scale no matter what is tried. But you will see see the weight activity on the "recent weighin's" when you go to your fitbit account on your phone. I am presuming that an update is being planned that will fix this bug. I think it is worth my time to wait. I may be important for everyone to know: the problem is not personal. This is a glitch. We should not have to pull the batteries or press the reset button over and over again; nor should there be the need to start from scratch to do a complete setup all over again every time the scale stops syncing the BMI and fat%. I feel sure that the company did not program the Aria 2 to act like that. I had my Aria 2 working beautifully when suddenly this problem came back . Therefore, I know for sure that it is a glitch and not something I did or didn't do to make it fail. I weighed myself many times successfully showing my BMI and fat%. I never moved the scale, nor did I change any settings or tamper with fitbit Aria 2 on my phone. I simply got on the scale 2 hours later and the problem of syncing properly was back. It is a glitch, that is all it is. Until this glitch is better understood by the Fitbit crew, I am going to get on my scale and weigh every day. I can change from being a guest in my account. I will be happy with that for now. Some hints to know: make sure the buttons are on for BMI and fat% in your settings. However, even though your settings and personal weight criteria are correct, or that your scale is working fine now. Just know it can be an intermittent problem--working one day but not the next. or one hour and not the next. I wasted two whole days to figure this out. Keep weighing over and over again and eventually the data will start syncing. But it may not last. I am sure there are many successes with the Aria 2 reported; but, hey, many in this community are overly frustrated until Fitbit steps up to the plate and fixes the syncing problem. I have 5 bars of wi-fi all through my house. The scale should never quit functioning after working nicely. I still love the Aria 2 and will wait for some fixes.

Lisa, you are probably ok. If you see your weight on the fitbit app, then everything is working properly. I have been experimenting all week with the Aria 2. I just bought it last week. I think I can help you. I assume you probably synced with your Wi-fi. You will see the Wi-fi symbol on the scale during the connection process. Once you have done that, the rest is a piece of cake. If you are the only one using the scale, it gets even easier. First, stand on the scale and let it weigh you. After that, open your fitbit app on your phone after the syncing process has finished on the scale. Wait until the scale falls back to sleep. Once you open the fitbit app, you should see your recent weigh-in on the scale tile. If you see this, then the scale is working properly. Next, open the scale tile. You should see your past weigh-ins in the "Weight Summary." If you see your weight history, feel assured that the most critical part is completed. Next, click on the Fitbit menu. It's the almost invisible, small square at the very right top of the main screen. It has a circle and some lines. Look for that and click it. Once you open the menu tile, you will see a list of things. You should be looking at the Aria 2 listed there. Click on Aria 2. You will see another list of things in your account. At the top of this screen is "Recent weigh-ins." Click on recent weigh-ins. From here, you can train Aria 2 as to who is weighing. You will see that all of your weigh-ins say guest. What you will need to do is slide these over and assign these to you. Reassign every weigh-in to your name. Keep doing that and you find all weigh-ins will eventually see you only. Mine says guest on the scale, though that is not a problem for me. It gets converted on my phone automatically now. It's almost like the Aria 2 has a personality of its own. Now, the problem I have been having is that the BMI and fat% does not show. This part is confusing a bit. After leaving the scale while it was working probably, I went back to weigh again sometime later and the BMI and fat% stopped. I spent a whole day trying to get it to work again. What I didn't realize is that the Aria 2 is a little moody. My fat and BMI was not recording all day yesterday. Then this morning it did record properly after doing nothing. One time the fat and BMI kept repeating while I stood on the scale and it never showed the toes that say to leave the scale for syncing. I thought this was the normal operation. This morning the toes appeared. I got off. Then my weight, BMI, and fat% appeared on the scale. So, I think this is more normal. You should see your fat and BMI after you step off. If all you see is your weight, don't fret. Again, this machine is moody. Other tips include you setting up your profile data, weight, and so on. If you weigh much less or more than you do, it will confuse the scale. Another tip is to make sure you assign an icon to your name. In the same place you saw "Recent weigh-ins, " the second item is "people using This Scale." Tap that. Tap your name. Then tap "edit Custom Icon." Here you can change or add your icon at will. When you see your icon on your scale after the weighing process, the scale sees you. I have settled in now. I am happy that I know the character of the scale. I think people should really test the Aria 2 as I did. I remember when windows 10 came out. I was completely lost and wanted to go back to Windows 7. But once I learned the characterization of Windows 10, I was more than satisfied. The Aria 2 is not like any other scale. It must know you and trust you. And you have to train it for that because this scale is set up for multiple users over Wi-fi. It's a whole new ball game for me. When you have weighed on the Aria 2 awhile, you will see it work properly if you have done all your homework. Give this scale a good couple of weeks of use before you decide to pull your hair. I took my Aria 2 back and got another one before I realized all of what I told you here. Believe me, it's a great scale. Fall in love with the Aria 2. All one needs to do is stand on it and not even look at the scale. It all goes to your Fitbit app. People can look later or at the end of the week or month. You get a graph that shows everything. If you weigh several times in a day, the graph will show how your food is reacting to your weight. Give the Aria 2 some time and you will love it ,too. I am saying all of this after the set up process has completed successfully. If you have your Aria 2 setup properly, there is still much to learn on how the scale reacts and gives out information. For people who have serious illness where weight loss must be managed, the Aria 2 is perfect if they are able to get on it. The wonderful thing about this scale is that it doesn't tend to flipp while getting on it. People can be a little wobbly and still get on and off easily without falling, I think.

Hi Aria 2 friends; I want to join you regarding the body fat % not showing issues. What was the solution? I like you have it on a hard surface, I am weighing in flat feet, I took batteries in and out. What next step?
Thanks for the post.

Mine was having the same issue, then I realized that you need to be BARE FOOT to read the body fat. As soon as I took off my socks and tried again, it registered body fat. I don't think they make that very clear.
