Aria Air needs to manually sync?!

Am I missing something here? I bought an Aria Air yesterday and had assumed from the descriptions etc that all I need to do is stand on the scales and it automatically syncs to my FitBit account? The sheet that came with it says I need to open the FitBit app and have it on the Today tab for it to sync - but it doesn't seem to do anything.

I'm having to open the app, go to Today tab, scroll down, tap on 'Weight' and then when I stand on the scales it fills out the weight for me and then I need to tap on 'Save' at the top right. Literally all the £50 scales do is save me typing a few numbers... With that process I may as well have bought some £5 scales because the process would be the same - open the app, go to Today, scroll down, tap on weight, enter weight, tap save.

So, am I missing something obvious here or is the 'sync' functionality just that it sends the weight to the app to save me typing it in? Because if that's what it is then I feel like it's been mis-sold and I'll be returning it.

Hello @MaFt and welcome to the Community.  The Aria Air is designed for multiple users, so the listed steps are required to log weights to the correct account.  Unfortunately, you must follow these steps, even if you are the only user.

Really? That's ridiculous. Absolute waste of money. What benefit is there from a regular scale? I have to do the same amount of work to log my weight.

Think I'll return it and buy a regular one for ⅒ of the cost.

Thanks anyway.

Same issue here. I went away for 2 months, and came back, and the FitBit app now requires this extra step. It used to be annoying enough that I had to have the app open, but I managed that with a shortcut on my phone. Now I have to have the app open, click "add" and select "weight" at the bottom. At that point, I might as well just enter my weight. What is actually syncing? I then have to hit "save", so all the integration did was copy a few numbers. If the app decided to finally sync at the point I have the "weight" screen open, why can't it save??

Very disappointed. I'll be looking for other options.

Seriously glad I found this and I'm not going crazy or just dumb. I very recently ordered this fancy Fitbit scale and am getting around to setting it up. Followed the steps, then troubleshooting steps and still don't even know if it's actually syncing on its own or what? The device shows as Not Synced in my connected ones. K need some customer support or I gotta return it too. Thanks OPs!
