I received my Aria Air today and I can’t get it to connect through the app. My phone (iPhone 13) shows it as connected in the Bluetooth list, but I’m continuously getting an error in the Fitbit app that it’s not on or something went wrong, or wasn’t set up properly…etc. So, nothing is syncing in the app. Has this ever been resolved?

This has been an issue since FitBit started converting accounts to Google. I created a new, NON-Google login and was able to pair the scale with that profile and sync that way. As you can see from the screenshot, my scale is working.
Of course, once you switch your account to Google, there's no reverting, but the problem is not the scale, the app, or the device you're running it on. The issue is in the way that the new user profiles are managed by Google.

Hello, I’m having the exact same problem as I received today my aria air and I had already switched my account to a Google account… so am I at a loss ? How do I resolve this or is there any chance at all that I can resolve this ? Doesn’t seem right when you buy a product, then the system doesn’t allow you to use it and then what, that’s it ? I’m becoming desperate I’m thinking of just giving up and getting reimbursed because it seems useless to me now! Has anyone been able to resolve this ?

No, there's nothing we can do but wait for Google. So, either return the scale and get one that can sync, or create another, non-Google, profile and sync to that.
The only response I've gotten from Google is that they're aware of the problem ads are working hard to fix it.

Do you have another device, like PC? The phone message is bogus, it wants you to do all the updates on the app including synching via wireless not bluetooth. I know, my Samsung puked like yours. I used my Ipad and/or desktop, just Ipad and did it that way. I was able to get my weigh scale to work.
IT for 25 years. In fact we should do a zoom on this

I am having the same issues with the same cause, using an iPhone. I Google-linked my Fitbit account a few months ago and now I can't remove and re-add my Aria Air scale. Fitbit support took 4 weeks to finally admit the problem is a 'known issue' and they are working with Google to fix it. No ETA.

I’m having the same problem too. Wish Fitbit would let us know that this problem exists before advertising it can do things it can’t. I’m returning mine. Feels like a waste of time.

My Aria will not go back to factory settings. It thinks my old wifi connection is still in force. Turns out Fitbit help has few people who can handle this issue. I called them in Colombia, SA. 🙂

Makes sense. My Aria keeps the old wifi connection that no longer exists. There is no way to ...no way to reset to factory settings.

I called Fitbit and was told I must wait for a phone call from a specialist in ARIA scales. The normal call centers can't handle this issue. Maybe I just need a new NON-Aria scale. All we hear about is Google and Chat AI... but they can't fix this internally. Sort of laughable with regard to AI.

*UPDATE*
I randomly used the Aria Air scale yesterday with my Fitbit on and my iPhone nearby and it detected and properly added the scale back on to my account! It popped right up and asked if I wanted to add it (this was failing in the past) and this time it worked. I think Google may have cleaned up the user account issues on the backend. You all should give it a try, maybe it will work for more people.

You gave me hope, though when I stepped on the scale this time, it still didn't work. It didn't fix itself automatically, but I was inspired to reset it. After the reset I just tried the regular steps to Add Device, and it worked this time!! It's good because I still haven't heard anything back from FitBit support, ha ha.

A month of Google "working hard" on this issue & I'm returning this piece of garbage.

It didn't work on my new iphone. I had the app, and just had converted it to Google shortly before getting the Aria. It just says "connecting" - I added the Fitbit app to my ipad. It is an older ipad, and never had the app on it. It worked like a charm. So the issue is either that it doesn't like the new phones, or the app on my new phone isn't updated? Anyway, if you have a different device as an option, give it a try.

I deleted and reinstalled the app on my iphone 15. It "sort of" recognized the device, in that it said that it was already connected to another device. It gave me the directions to reset it, and I did. After that it just would not find the scale at all. It however re-paired as quick as can be to my ipad. So my assumption is that the iphone 15 and the scale don't play well together.
