Aria Scale - Fix for WiFi Network Not Found

Recently upgraded my Comcast Xfinity internet service to 1 gig which meant I had a new gateway modem / router and new WiFi network name.  After weeks and dozens of attempts, I couldn't get my Aria scale to ever find the new network name, despite trying all the "fixes" out here.  Then I read posts that alleged that Comcast removed or disabled a certain 802.11 security (or something like that, I'm no techie) and you would never be able to connect an old Aria scale to a new high speed Comcast router.  That got me to thinking.... and I found a solution!!  I simply took an old Netgear wireless router I had on hand that was several years old (maybe 5 years?) and connected it to the new high speed Comcast gateway modem.  It then broadcast its own Netgear wireless WiFi single and the Aria instantly found it and connected!!  Guess this explains why Fitbit has moved to Bluetooth technology for their new Aria 2 scale.  This has been so frustrating and it would be nice if Fitbit was just honest and told you from the start that you would have these issues!!  If it helps, this was the Netgear model:   WNR3500L N300 WiFi Router 802.11n Gigabit.

Your frustration is warranted. Since the release of its first scale, they have never connected smoothly and ignored all cries for help. It was only after several years did they officially post the xfinity/comcast solution, which was really a work-a-round to their failure to update the technology.

Now, xfinity/comcast upgraded their technology, and the "b" connection in their routers is no longer supported. However, we may be stuck with the scale because in late 2019, Google purchased Fitbit, and I don't foresee a new scale or updates to its firmware.

Personally, I love my Fibit, but it looks like I'm getting a more compatible scale. At least it will be under $100us. LOL
