Aria battery exploded

Got an Aria scale this week - worked fine the first few days, then stopped automatically logging my weight, then today heard a crack come from the scale when I was in another room and one of the batteries burst and leaked white fluid??

 

Has this happened to anyone else??

 

I'm going to ASSUME I need a new one - haven't tried putting new batteries in yet.

I have not heard of that happening to anyone. You are not using lithium batteries, are you? See if you can clean the area, let it dry thoroughly and put in a fresh set of regular batteries. Good luck!

 

Note, you may need to wipe the area with a little lemon juice or vinegar to neutralize whatever came out of that battery and then with a clean, damp rag..
