Hi there,
I have just set up my Aria to wifi for the first time which was successful, but now receieve the following messages:
Hi 🙂
Sensing
Step off
Step off
Step off
Step off
Err
I have removed all batteries for a short period and also am only attempting this on a hard surface. All to no avail.
Are there any other options to get this working?
Thanks in advance.

Sorry to hear that. Loved mine while it worked. Sadly, felt good to hear it hit the bottom of the trashcan. All the best.

Have performed the recommended 'step on & off multiple times but no change: still getting err message.
Next steps?

I think I have fixed the sane issue on my aria! After many frustrations, resetting, flat surface, changing batteries and weighing myself 5 times only to receive the same error, I picked up the scales for the last time to throw them out n the bin. As I did, I tipped the scale towards me by 45 degrees and the scale starting working. I placed it back down and it has worked since.

After 8 years, I started getting the ERR message as well. Tried all the solutions recommended on this discussion: factory-resets, taking it apart and super-gluing the broken pieces, finding a 3rd party 3d-printing service to print replacement parts($12)...and still got the THINKING...ERR message. I gave up on it and looked at getting the Eufy scale, but ended up choosing a Withings scale which also integrates well with the fitbit app. Hopefully this new scale lasts longer than my Aria.

I was told by FB support it is a communication issue. I switched out my router, which was not compatible with the scales older protocol. When I hooked up my old router it would not reconnect...piece of crap for the amount of money. Worst part is FitBit (aka Under Armour) could care less. I bought the Eufy and love it, will never go back. Next will to be replaced will be Aria when that dies, Garmin or Apple are possible options.

I’m having the same problem and am becoming VERY frustrated with it. I’ve tried the 5 weigh-ins and it makes no difference. Technology shouldn’t be this difficult to use.
I’ve done both and it makes no difference.
Ditto. The product is crap and their service stinks.

Something is broken inside. It CAN be fixed!
I read several threads about the Aria suddenly starting the Step off...Step off...Step off...ERR message.
Reset did not work, stepping on it five times did not work, etc. I finally read about someone who found some broken plastic bits inside, that caused the multiple sensors to cause the software to be confused, ending in ERR.
So I opened up our Aria, and in looking for any broken plastic bits I found none! But in examining the four sensors, I discovered that the white platic assembly had come loose from the black plastic clip that would usually hold the white plastic assembly in place; instead it 'floated'...evidently causing the ERR. I pushed it back in place, put batteries in to dry run a test without the case, and IT WORKED again. So I put the bottom cover back in place, and our Aria is once again working!

This didn't work for me. This was given to me, used but excellent condition. I've set it up and after it tells me to stop off and is thinking, I get the ERR on the screen. I tried what was recommended above, but it didn't work. Help!
No luck for me
Please send my car to the support team as well. It's not working!

update - no way to repair, support recommended purchase of new one. as aria air is only available on our market I do not recommend it. Air is just stupid scale no wifi, no fat measurement.

None of the troubleshooting steps have worked for me:
I give up. I realize a lot of folks may say this, but over the last few months I've been moving to an Hermes Apple Watch that was a gift 2.5 years ago and has been simply collecting dust. To clarify, I've never been looking for a smartwatch -- so all my Apple Watch notifications aside from text and weather alerts are off. I'm still using my Fitbit for sleeping, or when I forget to switch but overall I'm moving out of the Fitbit universe and it will take a lot for me to come back.
Fitbit Flex, One, Force, Charge, Charge HR, Charge 2, Charge 3, Charge 4, and two Aria Scales. This was my Fitbit journey.
Being a Fitbit client, enthusiast, and shareholder for 8 years I'm exhausted and turned off with what has been happening with the brand since the Google acquisition. 28K views to this post, and the heart of the issue has not been addressed. What a shame, and I'll leave it at that.

Yes agreed, all their stuff in reality is just a short term rental... I'm moving on too, as they either don't care or are incapable of systemic corrections for the myriad of devices/problems. Customer service is either ineffective or simply overwhelmed and therefore... useless.... I mean honestly, take the batteries out, put back in then step on and off "5 times"
I imagine somewhere someone is having quite a chuckle that we are so gullible... maybe stand on one foot and flap our arms might work too... geez
This was once a $50 stock now has had a 90% decline

Re: the stock, Google cashed me out at $7.35 a share. Low key infuriating to be honest.
Side note, right after posting ^^ I ordered the Withings Body Cardio scale (they also have a Body+ but I wanted the vascular age) and I set it up this afternoon! The tech is interesting -- while I'm sure slightly gimmicky, but overall I'm intrigued. It includes: water, bone, fat %, vascular age, weather (?), and BMI in one shot. Also integrates with the Fitbit dashboard & Apple Health with one click, so I'm on a new journey now!
