I just put Aria on the floor. But sometimes it turns on by itself and the only way to turn it off is to pick it up and lay it down carefully. How to fix it?

It's great to have you here in the Community @newton108! In regard to your question, I believe that this must be an issue with your scale's software. Have you tried resetting the Aria by removing the batteries for at least 10 seconds and reinsert them?
Give this a try and let me know if you notice a difference. Thanks!

Hi Melissa,
My Aria is a couple of years old. Everything was working fine until just recently.
I have started having the same issue. If I walk past the scales and vibrate the floor, the scales turn on and ask to stand on. It seems like one of the feet have become more sensitive than normal.
I have taken batteries out for an extended time, replaced with new batteries. I tried with rechargeable and non-rechargeable batteries.
Is there anything else I can try?
Thanks

@Baktoid It's great to have you aboard in our Fitbit Community! I would like to share a workaround if you don't mind that I jump in this thread. Please take the batteries again, clean the contacts of the scale with a cotton swab and a little bit. This helps to remove dust that the springs accumulate. After this put the batteries one more time and check out if the issue gets fixed.
Keep me posted on the outcome my friend!

I have had this issue for the past few years. I have added batteries, cleaned it, re-set up the aria software etc.
I've had to do this numerous time as my scale BURNS through batteries because it is always "sensing".
Its disappointing that you have not resolved this with the multiple reports of the issue.

@Sejura Thank you for participating in our Fitbit Community! I'm sorry to hear that your Aria scale constantly shows a "Sensing" message even though you have tried the recommended troubleshooting steps. Due to this, I'll send your case to our Support team so they can investigate further and provide a solution.
You will receive an email from them soon.
Let me know if you have any doubts!

@JuanJoFitbit I was unable to resolve my Aria issues after following all your suggestions. My work around I found seems to work for now is, I keep one battery out. Then when I want to use the scales I put the this battery back in. It turns on and will function normally. I then remove the one battery until next time I need to use the scales.

I am having this same issue. Was there a resolution?

I don't think a proper solution was offered. I have the problem for nearly a year now, the scales are chewing through a set of four batteries within less than a month. I tried the "one battery out" for a while, but when you want to use the scales on a daily basis, this is a hideous task. And bad customer support to me, if this is cheered on by a Fitbit moderator. Or a solution is applauded, that a Fitbit moderator supports opening the scales and alter sensor parts with some glue.
This sensitivity problem is a known issue and I think the company should help us as customers to have a functioning product.
I feel very frustrated, no solution in sight as far as I know. Would the Fitbit producers happy with a company which is creating their webpage, crashes after every change in it and the web developer tells them that all is good, the web page just has to be recreated after every use by a single visit of one customer??? Maybe, now that you added your comment here as well WE WILL actually get a response like a real fix.
I tried everything I could find online: make sure floor is flat, moved scales from wooden bathroom floor to concrete garage floor, took batteries out, reset, uninstalled, updated, ..... Good luck (to both of us) 🙂
