My scale was giving consitently showing the 'step off' sensing message. I read how to open it up and look inside and sure enough, the plastic mounting bracket that holds one of the sensors was broken. Support told me that I was out of warranty, replacement parts are not available and there is no repair option.
Since this is not only, the most expensive scale I have ever purchased, but also the most short lived scale I can not recommend that anyone purchase it. If someone in support can contact me and give me a repair option I'll change my tune.

Thanks for the response. Nice that your engineers will be considering
improvements. Well your engineers should have known the obsolesence they
were building into the product during initial design. So I doubt your
engineers will come up with anything new.

I contacted Fitbit about my broken Aria, they told me to buy the new model and dismissed my concerns about the poor quality of craftsmanship. Fitbit has terrible customer service in general, my Blaze has NEVER allowed me to answer or deny calls and I was plagued with duplicate notification errors for several months and was told it was my fault. If a scale costs this much, I expect it to last more than a year and one month.

@thetruth Welcome to our Fitbit forums! I'm sorry to hear that your Aria scale has stopped working and it's no longer under the warranty period. The warranty is good for 365 days after the first setup. I know how frustrating this is for you and I appreciate your feedback.
Please check out this page for more information about the warranty policies.
Let me know if you have any doubts!

It'd be great if Fitbit offered a repair kit with replacement parts for this issue, it seems a lot of people are having the same issue.
Did you find a video of the repair online or just one of how to open it?

That would be too much to offer back, and would defy the planned obsolescence designed into the scale, the sucker money stream would slow
heres the design flaw, see the off white radial connector (3) connecting the top off load cell to its base,
‘cheap plastic being stressed indicated by the whitening of the supports, a part that is supposed to flex is not very flexible, in my opinion this is evident planned obsolescence. A cheap ring like this, no serviceable part or service to speak of renders your $200 scale a place in the trash. I’m done with Fitbit should have gone with Garmin.

Same with me. The long term durabilty of Fitbit products is suspect. That plastic mounting bracket is flimsy. My Fitbit One stopped charging just over a year into it. Never buy another Fitbit product and never recommend Fitbit to anyone else. Couple hundred bucks out the window.

A friend recently 3D printed a couple of these for me and it worked great! I was about to replace the scale (not with a FitBit).

I had the same problem. I spent over two hours with customer support fixing another problem with my Aria only to find out the sensors were bad and I was out of warranty. It was a barely used scale. What an unbelievably terrible and overpriced product. I wish I could say better things about fitbit but buyer beware...do not buy their products.

I did not. I disassembled the unit and found the small plastic pieces
could not be reattached. They do not make replacement feet for the unit.
I ended up tossing it.
