My Aria 2 scale (firmware 23.27.2.0) is suddenly only recognizing me as "Guest" and the android app (version 4.30 (110145981) no longer shows *anything* when I click on "Recent Weigh-ins" -- so there's no way to reassign the Guest weigh-in as me.
And of course there's no webUI dashboard for fitbit.com any more.
Anyone know of a work-around?

This is what eventually worked for me, but YMMV, of course. (And I'm not entirely sure every single one of these steps are necessary..)
- Switched my fitbit account to using a google account login.
- Deleted my Aria 2 scale from my fitbit account
- Removed one battery from the Aria 2
- Pressed and held the small black button above the batteries while reinserting the battery; continued to hold the button for 15 seconds.
- Stepped on the scale: it recognized me, displayed my icon & body fat%, but then showed an error when trying to sync the data to my account.
- Started the process in the fitbit app to install the scale
- Pressed and held that black button on the scale for 5 seconds
- Went through the wifi setup procedure, scale was added back into my fitbit account on the app
- Performed a weigh-in on the scale, scale recognized me, but with a new icon, waited for the scale to sync.
- After the sync, the fitbit app now showed the weigh-in.
- Went into Fitbit App->Devices->Aria 2->Users->Me and changed the icon back to what I'm used to.
...and that's it. Seems to be working now. I wish that I could say that fitbit-support <at> google dot com was of some help here, but they weren't. I just managed to find a solution by trying various random things.

Things I've verified:
- Fresh batteries in the Aria 2
- Aria 2 is connected to wifi network
- Updated my fitbit account to use my Google Account
- Made sure my fitbit Android app is using my Google Account
- Made sure the Aria 2 is syncing, according to the fitbit app
But the app STILL shows no recent weigh-ins.
Aria 2 scale STILL assigns ALL weigh-ins as "GUEST"
Aria 2 scale STILL has NO ABILITY to assign weigh-ins to configured scale user
Android App STILL displays ZERO recent weigh-ins.
An update from the Google team / engineers who maintain the Fitbit & Aria scale product line, stating that they're aware of the problem and are working on it WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.
...or has the whole Fitbit product line turned into abandon-ware?

12:29:02 PM : This was their response:
Thanks for reaching out to the Fitbit Customer Care Team. We appreciate your patience. It's a real pleasure to continue assisting you since you reported your Aria scale is not recognizing you properly.
So, in order to proceed here we share some steps we hope can help you:
Go to your dashboard on the website, then click on the gear in the upper right corner then on the Aria.
On the next page look at the "people" tab for your name. If you are there, when "guest" first shows up tap hard on the lower right corner until you see your initials.
If you do not see your name on the website or the icon for the Aria it has somehow become detached from your account.
For your reference, your case number. Once again, we apologize for this inconvenience, if you have any questions about your Fitbit device or services, visit http://support.google.com/fitbit.
12:29:30 PM : I followed each one of those steps and none of them resolved the issue.
12:29:54 PM : There was no ability to follow up with the case number.
12:31:54 PM Cherie: Thanks for the information and since there's already a previous contact, you may wait for their response as they are the team who can only handle your issue properly.
12:31:57 PM Cherie: Please note that it is beyond my scope and unable to provide any further details.
12:31:57 PM Cherie: I suggest you may reply back to their email so your case will be updated.
12:32:04 PM Cherie: Thanks for your time and patience here. I truly appreciate it a lot!
12:32:10 PM Cherie: While I still have you, please let me know if you have other queries aside from this.
12:33:51 PM : At least one Aria scale user has extensively researched this WIDE SPREAD problem and concluded that the fault lies with a configuration change made on the google server that the Aria scales post to. Due to a recent change on Google's end, the fitbit server that the Aria 2 scales post their data to, the data is rejected by the servers. This is due to the Aria 2 scale's limitation of only being able to post "first party cookies" over port 80, i.e. std http, not https. See:
https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Aria-Scales/Aria-not-syncing-anymore/m-p/5690687#M48090
12:34:45 PM : This information ought to be forwarded to the Fitbit Aria scale engineers / network managers.
12:35:11 PM : As an end-user, I have no ability to see that this information gets to the right people.
12:36:13 PM Cherie: Thanks for the additional information and I get your point here. As much as I want to help you more with this, it is already out of my scope and I am unable to provide any details due to limited access.
12:36:47 PM : What mechanism do you have for passing this information on up the line?
12:38:11 PM Cherie: Thanks for the understanding here and I hope that you understand as well that we all have different team handling different issues of devices and we don't have all the information about each since I am not one of their teams.
12:40:29 PM Cherie: It is our internal team and we are unable to provide more information for security and privacy but since you already contacted us regarding this and already have a previous case, you may reply to their email if they haven't replied back so your previous case will be updated.
12:40:29 PM Cherie: I will not forward our chat to them this time to avoid any confusion in each cases.
12:40:50 PM Cherie: Thanks for the understanding here and have a great day!
12:40:53 PM Cherie: Cherie left the conversation
12:40:53 PM Cherie: Thank you for contacting Google chat support. Your chat session is now complete.
12:40:54 PM Cherie: Cherie ended the conversation
