so the Aria Air was not syncing in the Fitbit app (which is installed on a brand-new flagship mobile Android OS device), including after I updated the firmware. fitbit.com/scale/setup/start doesn't work. the app doesn't work. is there an intern somewhere working on some kind of software or firmware to make the Aria Air a smart scale that works with any devices, computer or mobile again? anything that works?

Hi there, @JSwpg@Odyssey13 Thanks for sharing your insights.

@JSwpg Thanks for bringing this to our attention, as well as your efforts on this matter. Before anything else, let me clarify that the link mentioned in your post corresponds to the set up process of the original Aria scale. In the case of the Aria Air, is required to have a compatible mobile device since this scale will sync via Bluetooth and not through WiFi connection.

While we stopped supporting syncing with Windows phones and computers in 2022, we appreciate your feedback. Fitbit constantly works to improve our products and services, and comments like yours help us to make that happen.

By the way, I've moved your posts to the Aria Scales board so we can keep the forums organized.

Hi @JSwpg  since Fitbit removed the Windows app, it's doubtful they will be making a new one. Most things are done with smartphones and it seems that is the direction Fitbit is taking.

Stepping in the U.S.A. since September 2013. Android 14

That makes perfect sense. The only problem is the only problem is the smartphone app doesn't pair with the "smart" scale. So I guess that brings up another question - but I've already returned the scale. Hopefully didn't get sold to someone else the next day because I noticed the receipt said "Customer changed mind" in stead of something like "Manufacturer's defect"...

Is the Aria Air project dead?

Any idea what the purpose for having fitbit.com/scale/setup/start still on the website might be?

Hi there, @JSwpg.

It's good to see you back and to help you with your question, let me share this link will help you to set up an original Aria scale using the web-based method. This can be done either on a computer or mobile device since the process is done through a web browser. Keep in mind this method is not applicable for the Aria 2 and Aria Air as a compatible mobile device with the Fitbit app installed is required.

I had the Aria Air & I have a Fitbit Alta HR.

Hi @JSwpg.

Thanks for getting back and as mentioned before, in the case of the Aria Air and any Fitbit device such as the Alta HR, it's required to have a compatible mobile device in order to install the Fitbit app, as well as sync your information. The requirements to set up each of our Fitbit devices can be found here, as well as in the User Manual.

I haven’t been able to figure this out either. I’ve called and emailed tech support with Fitbit until i’m cross eyed! Seems I have a rather fancy paperweight now! I have a compatible iPhone that has been updated and meets all requirements, I have the Fitbit app the tracks my movement I just can’t for the life of me get my scale to sync with my phone! It’s very frustrating! No one Fitbit seems to be able to solve the problem… I’m about to return my scale as well. I would love to be able to keep it if anyone has any advice for how to get it to work!

You might find this thread interesting (from a year ago) - didn't get a response or clarification from FitBit themselves though ... a software workflow would really help in understanding the problem and coming up with a long term resolution ...
