I have a blaze and am hoping to (maybe a little naively) track a 25mile walk that I'm doing soon using the GPS connection to my phone, but I'm finding the battery on my phone has been plummeting since getting getting my fitbit. If I turn off all day sync and always connected, will the GPS still work and draw up a map for me?

Yes, it should definitely work. Those functions are not connected.

Thank you! I'm a total novice so I'm just trying to find the right balance of functionality to battery life.
