Are there any Fitbit watches that have end consumer replaceable batteries that don't require product "surgery"?

Hi @clintw  there is no Fitbit that uses regular batteries. All the Fitbit watch style products require recharging and there are no batteries for replacement.

Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @clintw and thanks @Odyssey13 for the input.

@clintw The only Fitbit device with replaceable battery was Fitbit Zip but it was discontinued a few years ago. All of our devices have a non-replaceable battery inside the unit.

See you around.

Wow that is super disappointing from a sustainability point of view. Designed obsolescence via battery life is super annoying. If the only thing wrong with a device is that the battery, which is a consumable component (even if it is rechargable), it shouldn't require an entire new product.

@clintw  many cell phones are made with rechargeable batteries which cannot be replaced.

Hi, @clintw.

Many electronic devices (wireless earphones, cellphones, smartwatches, etc.) are equipped with non-replaceable batteries as @Odyssey13 mentioned above. If you have a Fitbit device and need assistance with the battery (not charging or low life) you can always count with our Support team to receive assistance.

Have a nice day.

There was great uproar when cellphone companies decided to completely prevent users from replacing the battery - and it comes across as pretty circular logic to say that "since they all do it, we will do it too."

Your company IS contributing to the E-waste problem. It is the reason I will never buy another FitBit device. Good enough product, but short battery life = my dollars go elsewhere (like Garmin VivoFit 4, which DOES have replaceable batteries)
