We bought a Blaze fibit for our son and he's worn it for three days straight - got a severe allergic reaction to the watch - like bright red bumps and rash - much like everyone has been discussing online. There are a lot of reports online in forums of this reaction happening and it even involved a recall by a previous model.
We have considered buying a leather band but if it persists I've even read online where a news station theorized that the perspiration / sweat could be causing the batter to leak acid -

when you look at some of the images people have posted it almost looks like that but lets hope its not! Might have to swicth to an Apple watch.
Or that some people are coating the clasp in plastic:
Really? Why can I wera a watch (normal one) and not have an allergic reaction but with the FitBIt you get a severe reaction? Get it together Fitbit and fix this! Need to coin a new product nae for you : "FixBit".

So I had the same issue as everyone. Bright red spots and lots of issues with the band but once I followed the advice in the product care guide Im actually totally ok.
Here are the things I do now.
1. the watch is loose on my wrist. Not super loose but not tight either. Its shape prevents it from rolling to the other side.
2. When I wash my hands I make sure to take the watch off. I have a strong feeling thete was soap water under the watch from my washing my hands that casused my rash.
3. After any activity I wash the watch and dry completely before wearing it again.
After these simple tips no rash.
Moral of the story is do not let the area between the watch and your skin wet either by sweat or just from washing hands.

@JonnyH Sorry to hear about the discomfort your son experienced. I recommend checking out our Guidelines for product wear and care and encourage users to follow these for maximum enjoyment of their Fitbit products.
If your son continues to experience discomfort on his wrist, I suggest removing the Blaze. If symptoms persist longer than 2-3 days after removing the Blaze, contact a dermatologist and reach out to our Support Team with the full details of his experience, along with pictures if available. I am confident that our team will be able to provide you with some further options.
