Bike exercise not recorded with GPS

Hi!

I went for a ride on my bike yesterday. I used the shortcut on my blaze and when I touched it, it just said ‘let’s go’. The phone and gps icon was not available on my Fitbit however it was available if I were to log my ride as a run. I tracked my ride under biking and of course my Fitbit didn’t track anything other than my heart rate. 😞

Do I need to log my bike rides under running to be able to use the gps function or is the bike option supposed to use gps too? How can I fix this?

Please help!! My Garmin doesn’t track biking so I need to use my Fitbit!

Hello @lcendalski11, welcome to the Community Forums!

Thanks for bringing this to my attention and for the details that were shared with me.  To better assist you with this and because your Blaze uses connected-GPS feature to route your exercise, can you please let me know which mobile device are you using? When was the first time you experienced this issue and how many times since then? Is this affecting other activities or just Bike? You should be able to track GPS information with this specific activity, therefore, I suggest you to restart your Blaze and check the information that's specified on: Why isn't GPS working on my Fitbit device?

Keep me posted and let me know if you have any additional questions.

Hi @RicardoFitbit ! Thank you for the warm welcome!

It looks like a restart was all it needed, but I will answer all of your questions.

I have an iPhone XR which is running the latest software. My Fitbit app was current. Apparently it started about September and continued every time I ran (which wasn’t often) because I also have a love-relationship with exercise so I have been slacking. I am getting back into things because I have two 5ks this weekend. It was still logging the run data I needed and I wasn’t biking at the time. I recently ended up getting a Garmin vivomove 3 (my Fitbit was acting like it was dying, ie not charging, not responding, etc) for the ‘I’m not wearing a fitness band’ look, but the data really is not the same.

If you have any say please consider creating a Fitbit with a discreet screen display and normal watch look with all the functionality of the Fitbit. I miss you guys.

Thank you for your assistance!
