Can anyone explain how I can walk 48 steps with a brand new blaze and burn 1690 calories? Help a novice please.

It is likely because it takes in account you basal calories consumption - that is what your body burned just to operate. It is an estimation based on your age/sex/weight parameters.

Hi there @Calorieswayoff @TheCyberKnight, good to see you both in the Forums! 🙂

@Calorieswayoff, The explanation for this is exactly what @TheCyberKnight explains. If you see this number upon waking up after taking a few steps, those calories are not only for those steps. Your tracker counts your calories starting over from 12:00 am until 11:59 pm for the day. That means that whenever you see calories already burned upon waking up, those calories have been counted while you were sleeping. These calories are for your regular body functions such as breathing, your heart pumping, all those things... You basically burn calories just for being alive and based on your BMR which takes into consideration your height, weight and gender, you will get an estimation.

Hope I made myself clear. If you have more questions, let me know!
