Blaze Display stays lit

I've had the blaze for a week and then battery doesn't last more than a couple days without giving out on me. I don't look at the face constantly but have noticed it stays lit for long durations even when I haven't flicked my list to turn it on. I have the setting for quick view turned off and have brightness sent to dim. As I sit here and type this message, the face has been awake for well over 20 minutes since I started paying attention to it. 

 

Is my device defective? Appreciate any ideas or settings that I can tweak to get the face to not be awake all of the time and get the battery to last longer.

Try a restart. Do it at least 3 times.
