I received my Blaze a couple days ago. I had a Charge HR previously so I know that the floor count can sometimes be misleading but my Blaze seems to have a mind of it's own sometimes.
The first, smaller problem I had was yesterday at work we have two floors, however there are three flights of stairs between the two floors. My Blaze was only counting two flights of stairs instead of the three. My Charge HR would count it as three floors so I'm not sure if the Charge HR or the Blaze was incorrect.
The bigger problem is that sometimes the floor counts will jump dramatically for no reason whatsoever. Yesterday while leaving for work I was at 0 floors and upon arriving at work I had somehow gained two floors just by driving. My drive home registered no floors. This morning I had 10 flights logged (I work past midnight so they were earned after the end of day cutoff). While watching a TV show and making a trip down a hallway I had somehow gained three flights putting me at 13. I even checked my app, which said the last sync was 15 minutes ago and I was still at 10 flights. After the sync I went up three.
I don't know if it's a fluke, or perhaps maybe the extra floors were somehow stored and arrived late, but I was just curious to see if anyone else had a similar problem or a solution.

I should add that in the time that I have been on my computer, and went to answer a phone call one room over, my floor count increased another floor 😞

Hello @HolyMythos, @Fands and @LBSingh, it's great to have you here! @HolyMythos Your tracker detects floors using an altimeter, which is a sensor that calculates altitude based on atmospheric pressure. Atmospheric pressure decreases with increasing elevation, so the tracker calculates elevation gain based on the reduction in atmospheric pressure. Your tracker registers a floor when it detects continuous motion combined with an elevation gain of 7 to 10 feet. It does not register floors when you go down.
Also your tracker may give you credit for extra floors for a variety of reasons. Occasionally your tracker may detect pressure changes unrelated to elevation gains, such as a gust of wind, weather change, or opening a door. Exposure to excess moisture can also result in extra floors being counted. This happens if the pathway to the altimeter on the back of your tracker becomes temporarily blocked with sweat or water.
Hope this helps! 🙂
It is health that is real wealth and not pieces of silver and gold! Share your story!

Great insight! Definitely good to keep in mind.
