Are the heart rate sensors better and more accurate in the blaze compared to the charge HR?

I sent my fitbit blaze back and got the garmin vivoactive smart watch HR and I LOVE it. I have not had any problem with the heart rate being off!! It is very easy to use and it is just the right size not big and gouty the blaze.

My friend and I both have the same Charge HR, and they were both purchased in January of this year. We challenge each other all the time, so I know that she is working out just as hard as I am. I am having all kinds of issues with my HR regarding heart rate. I get the -- often, and also get readings that say I am at 109, then jumps to 130, then back to 119, then to 125, then stedially down then jumps to 130 and stays there for a while and then drops again. It is really frustrating. When I start out, no issues, until I begin to sweat, then, issues. I was hoping that the Blaze would work better, but I may need to switch to a different brand if the Blaze has the same issues.

The exact same thing happens with my Blaze. It seems to read my heart rate fine all day, but when I'm working the hardest, and sweating the most at the gym, the heart rate shows up as a double dash --. This is when I'm most interested in my heart rate, and the Blaze draws a blank.

I am just about to try to get a refund for my charge 2. I got it for heart rate monitoring and it really only has any acuracy when I am pretty still. High intensity for me - even after changing fit, drying all surfaces, has been more than 70 beats out of whack. I think it is pointless. Also a friend of ours started using a charge 2 and his wrist started twitching. Only stopped when he took the device off.
Also during sleep if you wake up and roll over and your arm does anything it lights up like a beacon. Can be very disturbing for the person in bed with you, not to mention blitzing your own eyes.
