Blaze Scratched Screen

I purchased my Blaze back in June, being the cautious type I immediately had a look around for screen protectors, I saw a few 3rd party options and dug a little further to discover that Fitbit were not offering their own protectors as the Blaze made use of scratch resistant Gorilla Glass. This put my mind somewhat at rest and I scrapped the idea of getting a screen protector.

However, I have not had the watch very long I am very disappointed to find that the face of the watch has a rather large scratch across the front.

To my knowledge I have not done anything to the watch that would cause such damage and am surprised that this has happened at all. Had I physically done something to the watch to cause such damage I would not be writing, however the fact that the damage occurred between putting the watch back on after a shower and making a coffee with nothing of note happening in between I am a little disappointed.

Having looked over the forums again I have noticed that I am not the only person to experience scratching/cracking to a Blaze despite the use of Gorilla Glass. I have contacted customer services and am hoping for a positive response. Having taken the plunge and going for two of these watches (one for the girlfriend) I hope I haven't made the wrong decision.

I don't think the screen is made with glass. I think it is made of plastic.

Gorilla Glass is what the company claim so unless you're suggesting fraudulent goings on then I imagine that Gorilla Glass is what it is.

Hi Mike, can't see where in my original post I am supposed to have suggested that Gorilla Glass has not been used? I in fact made reference to the screen being made from it a couple of times. Yes I'm very disappointed that it has scratched and would have expected that such a scratch would have required a significant amount of abuse to achieve - something the watch has not received. My concern is that as the screen is already thin this scratch will serve to weaken the screen and I will have a cracked screen in no time.

Nevertheless, glass can still be stratched easily.

The fitbit module itself isn't as durable as the metal frame and you will find that both the glass and the plastic edges on the top and bottom of the fitbit logo will pick up dents and scratches.. The sides of the module which has the buttons are more protected as the sit inside the frame. Unfortunately you can't get the module without having to to buy the complete blaze

If the screen is made of any kind of plastic, simply get some toothpaste on a cloth and rub the scratch. May seem dumb but trust me it works. Hope this helps!

@yhussein and if the screen is made of ha tells glass version three as the company claims, what would suggestion be?

Well, I am sure that you could try toothpaste, but no guarentees that it would work. Try contacting a watch repairer as that is where i got the toothpaste trick from.
