Blaze VS Garmin Forerunner Calorie burns.

Hi all,,

For around a month now I have been comparing calorie burns with my blaze on non-dominant hand and the Garmin on my dominant hand.  Both tend to give similar calorie burns during runs, however throughout the day I often have around 300 calories more with the blaze.

I'm syncing with My Fitness Pal using the Garmin and I'm really trying to maintain my weight.  I have not really lost or gained going with the Garmin calorie burns so would assume I would put some weight on if I were to follow Fitbits estimates.

I've also noticed that the fitbit blaze gives accurate heart rates when doing little or no activity, however when in excercise mode it tends to struggle reading higher heart rates to the sum of around 20BPM under and total steps are often 1000 odd higher on the fitbit, though I notice that Fitbit tends to count steps when driving and is a little more sensitive even when I have on non-dominant hand with dominant setting to reduce sensitivity.

Does anyone have similar experiences??

At start of fitness journey I was walking and Fitbit Flex and Force were providing very accurate calorie burns. However once I started spinning and cycling the calorie burns were wrong. Tried Surge and Blaze, still have calorie burn accuracy issues. I've found the Garmin chest strap paired with my Edge 520 bike computer to give accurate calorie burn estimates. In addition I get recovery time data and lactate threshhold updates, that is valuable training info you don't get with Fitibit.
