Blaze alarm only vibrates in a series of 3 then stops, is that normal?

So the alarm only vibrates in a 4 times (series of three like a dot dot dot dash) and then stops, is this normal? I hope not.  My wife's HR vibrates until she shuts it off.

I said nearly the same thing. The alarm needs to go off until you turn it off. They need to change that because the vibration is so faint.

That is how the alarms work - as you describe.

On the Blaze, if you tap the screen you can either snooze foor 9 minutes or cancel the alarm.  If you do nothing it snoozes auto for 9 minutes.

I have a charge HR and it worked similar.  Except to snooze you just ignored it.  If you pressed a button it cancelled it.

Hi there @Alaskaman Good to see you in the Community! 🙂

The behaviour you mention on the way that your Blaze alarm works sounds like the way it should be working. It will vibrate the same way (dot-dot-dot-dash) for about 3 times and then stop. I would say that if your wife's tracker is not working that way, you can try to restart it by pressing the left and the lower right buttons together for about 10 seconds until it goes off and comes back on and set a test alarm to see if it happens the same way yours do.

Let me know how it goes!

Thanks for the clarification. I was hoping that mine was broken and that it was really suppose to keep vibrating until I preformed an action on it. Three sets just doesn't seem long enough to me.

Thanks, Alaskaman

My Blaze hasn't been snoozing if I do nothing.  It does the alarm once and then doesn't snooze.  I have noticed this as being different than the Blaze.  Not sure if that is a problem with my unit or what.

If for some reason you aren't wearing it, you are going to come back to a fitbit with a dead battery.  I'd also wonder what that does to the component(s) inside that make it vibrate.  Even a smartphone alarm doesn't vibrate indefinitely - probably for similar reasons.

I don't think the vibration is too weak at all for the alarm.  I think it is too weak/short for the text alerts.

For those that are interested on what makes the vibration, here is a video

@FerdinandFitbit

My alarms were working as you described until this last firmware update.  Now I get a faint short vibration (not the dot dot dot dash) and nothing.  Before the update it would auto snooze if I didn't press anything.  Now it just slightly vibrates and remains at the alarm screen.  It doesn't auto snooze.  I've missed my alarms twice this week because of it. I've restarted my blaze, I've restarted my iPhone and I still get just a faint vibration and nothing.

Any help would be great.  I really hate losing this wonderful feature because of an update.

Hi there @FireSwan. Good to see you around!

I've honestly not updated my tracker yet but I will do it right now and test the alarms and see how it goes to make sure it's something about the new update or if it could be something affecting only your tracker. As soon as I have any news on this, I'll be sure to let you know.

Anything else, let me know! 🙂

Hi @FerdinandFitbit, thanks for your response.

Here's an update: I let my Blaze run down the battery (but not die) then fully charged it.  I restarted it and tested the alarms again.  (this was the 3rd restart after the update) The vibration is better (but still not as strong as it was) and the auto-snooze seems to work now.  So, it looks like a third restart fixed the issue.

I really hope you guys can work on the vibration settings, maybe make it so that we can choose the repeat duration and strength.  I really loved using it as my alarm in the mornings (so did my husband since I wake up several hours before he does). Smiley Happy

my alarm is very subtle: I can hear it only if I am attentively waiting for it. It can’t wake up anything. It barely exists. Also there are no repetitions and it skips alarm time unpredictably. It’s quite expensive and for such a price - huge frustration. Also after 1 month it stoped connecting to the phone. (I restarted bluetooth, restarted the phone - nothing helped.) Could you please help?

Hi there @bvk777. Welcome to the Community Forums! 🙂

About the alarm vibration, there's no way to increase the level of the vibration at the moment. The alarm should go into snooze mode if you don't turn it off the first time it goes off.

Now, about the  connectivity issues, besides restarting your phone and the bluetooth, I can also recommend restarting your Blaze by pressing and holding the left and lower right buttons for 10-12 seconds. This will make your tracker to reboot and after that, you can see if this makes any difference.

Hope this helps. Let me know if you need anything else!

I have a Fitbit Blaze and an Apple Watch.  There are two things I need the watch for:

1. Weather

2. Alarm

I can get by without the weather, but I need to alarm to wake me in the morning.  Going off once and then snoozing just means I am going to over sleep.  And through the day when I use it, one time going off is not enough.  So, I eject the blaze from it's band and keep it in my pocket to count steps.  I'm wearing the apple watch just for the alarm - this is very disappointing.

Please fix it Fitbit!

Hey there @blmopus! Great to see you in the Community Forums! 🙂

When it comes to weather notifications or just to check the weather on your Blaze, since that's not an existing feature, you can take a look at this feature suggestion for you to be able to vote for it and add any comments you may have.

Now, for the alarm part... That's the way that it works for now. If you'd like to increase the amount of times you can snooze the alarm, you can create your own suggestion here.

Anything else, I'm here to help!

I have read more than a half a dozen posts about people complaining about the alarms in different locations on your website. The fact that you just don't seem to want to repair this is an earmark for extremely weak support. I'm stunned that this isn't literally the top priority from the amount of noise that this oversight has created

Hi there @sastian, welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums! 🙂

I'm sorry, I don't think I understand what you're referring to about alarms exactly. If you could be more specific, I'd like to help you out!

I'll be looking forward for your reply!
