I am a simple guy who likes to know how many step and how far I walk. I used a zip and that worked fine. When I saw the heart rate monitor on the Blaze I got one When I use the treadmill it may work as you wanted but to me it's crap. I have tried to turn gps off with no effect. I have used run with the effect that I missed 30% of the steps. People refer to settings on the walk screen. I don't have a walk screen. Save your money until tey get the problems worked out. Going back to my zip

There is a treadmill option you may want to consider. I use that option when walking indoors on a track when GPS is not available. I find the steps/distance & time to be accurate on the treadmill option.

Using the treadmill option works well. It doesn't use the GPS but it does use the stride length to calculate the distance travelled from the steps taken. I find the steps counted to be quite accurate when running or walking on the treadmill

I'm another satisifed user of the Treadmill option under the Exercise menu.

As far as not having a "Walk" screen, what options do you have when you tap on the Exercise screen? If Walk is not one of them, go to the Fitbit app, tap on Blaze on the Dashboard, then scroll down to Exercise Shortcuts. From there, you can select up to 7 exercises to be available in the menu under the Exercise screen on the Blaze itself, including Walk and Treadmill. It can take a few minutes to sync before it shows up.
