I received a Fitbit that had major scratches all over the heart monitor so I asked Amazon for a replacement and the replacement Fitbit blaze that I just got has scratches on it too!!!! Do all the heart monitors have scratches on them? I am very frustrated!!image.jpeg

The HR portion comes typically in two parts: Green/Infrared LEDs and a photodiode sensor.  Looking mine under a loupe, mine has striations running along the top.  I say striations because they are evenly distributed.  I looked at my other HR monitors and they exhibit the same thing.

As disappointed as I am with my Blaze, I dont see anything wrong with the Blaze in the picture you posted. But after a few days, I'm sure you'll be back letting us know the other inaccuracies the Blaze has. Because it has them.
