Blaze counting steps and workouts at the same time

I noticed when I am tracking workouts on my blaze, it continues counting steps as well.  For instance, today when I was 18mins into my mountain bike ride, it accurately said I had been riding for 18 mins and had my mileage because it was linked to strava, but it also said I had walked about 2000 steps and climbed another 10 flights during that time.  Myfitnesspal is automatically adding steps that are over my goal to calories burned.  Am I double dipping on calorie burn when I track workouts on my blaze?

The calories displayed are from your heart rate, not the counting of the bumps the bike rode over.

They are not, as you say, double dipping.

Did you use the bike mode, or workout mode?

Thanks Rich_Laue!  I used bike mode, and connected it to strava on my phone so I could get the mileage and map my ride.  Sounds like I may have been underestimating my calories burned before using this.

It also automatically transfers steps over goal over to MyFitnessPal and counts that as extra calories burned.  That is why I was concerned about double dipping.

My understanding is you dont want to record with both the Blaze and Strava.

There is a pinned post in the third party apps that explains what ayncs between the two.

It's great to see you around @Pete65 and @Rich_Laue thanks for stopping by.

Could you please be more specific about the inconvenience you have? Since it is normal for your tracker to track steps while doing exercise. My recommendation here is to select the activity you will do directly from your Blaze or leave SmartTrack do the work. Also, if you prefer not to send your information to a specific app, you can always delete this app from your Fitbit settings.

Hope to hear from you soon. Woman Happy
