Blaze doesn't charge

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I bought a Blaze and it will not charge in its cradle. I have tried 2 different usb ports on my computer and left it plugged in for 6 hours. When I try to update the firmware through the app, I get a message telling me the battery is too low and needs to be charged. I have also tried plugging the cradle into the usb port on another computer and left it to charge for 4 hours. Still have same result. I have made sure that the pins are aligned between the cradle and the Blaze. I am running Windows 10 on my computer.

Wendy,

I tried everything you recommended. I let the Blaze charge for 2 hours after I cleaned the contacts and tried to do a restart. When I tried to do the restart the Blaze showed a low battery symbol. I am just going to take it back to where I bought it and get another one. I think this one may be defective.

Small world.  Just got off a chat with Fitbit customer service with the same issue.  They looked at my Blaze's history and determined it is not holding a charge.  My blaze is less than 2 years old.  The solution: Fitbit will give me 25% off a new device.

I just completed an online chat with Fitbit Customer Service regarding my Blaze no longer being able to hold a charge.  My device is less than 2 years old.  The customer service rep confirmed my unit is not charging properly.  Their solution, an offer of 25% off a new device!

A quick look through this forum and there are numerous issues being reported about charging problems with a Blaze.  I would think Fitbit is concerned, but it does not appear to so.

Just wanted to let folks know what to expect when the report charger problems with their Blaze.

Mine is brand new so I should have no problems returning it and hopefully the new one I get will be good.

And thanks for the heads up about the charger problems. Maybe that is why where I bought mine had it on sale. They knew about the problem but didn't say anything.

Hey what phone do you use? I use galaxy s8 and I was told they are aware of issues with the s8 and the blaze but don't know when it's going to be fixed.  Completely random as it has been working for months.

Hi,

It's an iPhone 8.  Once it is charged, the Blaze works, but only for a few hours before battery dies.

I'm on Samsung I've been told it's their problem but my sister has the same fitbit and phone and she doesn't have this problem! It's not good enough

Try putting a small cardboard paper in the charger on the top end (opposite the metal contacts) before you close it and load your Blaze. When you close it, you should see the battery running again if everything is okay. My Blaze is two years old, and this works for me.

What is going on??? This is my 2nd replacement. Had first for about a year and it wasn’t perfect then stopped all of a sudden, froze etc. Got replaced and that did the same about 5months in. This new one will now not charge! No moving battery bar or anything. Ivw upgrades phone to iphoneX but charge in the same place and way as I have done for over 2 years! Getting very bored now. They’ve replaced mine FOC both times so stand firm on 25% off new one!!!

This is my 3rd fitbit and I have never had any problems before. They seem to be well aware of this problem but no one can give a proper answer to a solution! I think having the item for a good while we all know how to charge it properly. I was asked to turn off notifications etc to save the battery if you cant use the features what is the point in having it ! this has put me off fitbit

I just purchased my first Fitbit and it arrived yesterday.  I went with the Blaze and I am having the same problem.  It's not charging.    Keeps telling me the battery is too low and needs to charge.  The charge light does not come on while charging.  I have plugged it into my computer and in the wall.  Nothing, nada, zippo.... 😞

Update:  After charging and rebooting my android, cleaning and rebooting my computer, it finally updated and shows it charging.  I have my fingers crossed that it will work out!   🙂

The store didn't have any more Blaze in stock. I wound up getting a Charge 2. It works fine.

I have an Alcatel OT510. It us unusable for the Blaze as it is not bluetooth compatible. Was just connecting to computer to try to get it charged/synched.

Hello,

I have an S8 also and I am experiencing the same problems.  How do we know if this is a Fitbit issue or a Blaze failure?

Hey I've been told its a software problem but no matter how many time I reboot or go through the Steps given it doesn't work. They are now sending me a new one but not sure if that will fix the problem!
