Blaze hiking exercise stops prematurely

My blaze has a recurring problem when in exercise mode (specifically hiking):  The screen quick view causes the screen to illuminate and become active occasionally and then a sweaty sleeve apparently is causing the onscreen button for pause & stop activity to be selected.   I feel a vibration and realize the activity is paused (but I can restart) or sometimes it is too late and the hike exercise is terminated & I am forced to begin a new activity.  Also, if 'done' is not selected, the GPS tacking information is not saved to my synced device.   Help?    It would be helpful if the onscreen button selections were deactivated during all exercises unless a button was pressed first.  Or maybe the quickview was turned off ... either way would be helpful to keep from losing data and/or having activities segmented.   But the most common result is lost GPS and activity data.

Welcome to the Forums @DaveInTX. Actually, you can turn off the quick view option by swiping to settings and select off for this. Also, I know that it would be great to have an option to lock the Blaze while exercising, please take a look at the Touchscreen Lock request, vote for it and leave your comment.

If the GPS connected feature is not working properly, follow the instructions in the My Blaze GPS is not working post but if this is not syncing, follow the steps provided in the Having trouble syncing? post.

Thanks - that is a decent potential solution (although it is one that requires action - I'd slightly prefer one that didn't require action before & after each exercise).   But I agree it does solve the problem.   The GPS issue wasn't with the connection or the GPS.  But rather the GPS data not being saved if I accidently forget to press 'done' when my hiking activity is complete.   When this happens, the GPS data isn't saved and I get no mapping data at all.   Thanks again.

Well, I'll have to say your solution didn't work 100%.   It was easy to change the settings to turn off the quick view before my hiking activity.    And when checking my progress, I made sure to let the screen time out to black before I moved - to keep from activating any button or function.   And this worked for the first 4-5 miles of my hike yesterday.  However, during a 'pause' of my hiking, I felt the Blaze vibrate & saw it stopped my activity tracking.   Apparently, my hot, sweaty sleeve had turned on the screen and 'pressed' the stop icon.   It was over 100 degrees ... so, it was hot.  But with the screen still activated by touch even when the quick view is turned off - I still had my activity stopped.  And after that, I had a couple of instances of a new hiking activity started and paused without intentional action from me.   Do you have a suggestion on how to make sure this doesn't happen?  Could I turn off the touch screen function temporarily?   Thanks in advance.
