Blaze inaccurately counting steps

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.
This morning I walked 6+ miles and my step count was around 9500. My husband has the surge and he walked 5 miles with me. His step count was around 11,000 steps. The health app on my iPhone has my step count at approx. 13000 steps. I think something is wrong with the blaze. This is my 2nd one and the step count is way off on both. I had the charge and did not have this issue!!!

There are half-dozen threads on Blaze innaccuracy for steps/distance.

We're waiting for a software fix.  Might see Donald Trump win La Raza's "Man Of The Year" award before it gets here.............LOL

I rec'd an email from customer service yesterday...they are replacing my Blaze..it has been consistently shorting my step count milage for over 2 weeks. And now i have intermittent fast battery drainage..hopefully it will all work right with the new one.

Your battery problem will probably be better. You'll probably still that the inaccurate step count until they try to fix the software issue.

Welcome to the Community @EnzaneB and @MikeS1971@Fands@Corvettekid and @BeccaMP it's great to see you around. Woman Very Happy I would like to know if you keep having problems with the accuracy of your Blaze? If you do, I recommend restarting your tracker and after the restart process, test it.

I hope this helps, let me know the outcome. Woman Happy

Hi @AlejandraFitbit,

If I restart my Blaze part way through the day, will it delete the activity for today so far?

Is it best to do a reset at night / first thing in the morning?

I've noticed a significant decrease in the steps tracked on my Blaze over the last two weeks compared to before. I've only had the thing two months today, and now, the same activity is only showing I did half the number of steps!

Thanks,

Thanks!Thanks!

No amount of restarts, reboots, app reinstallations, replacement Blazes or anything else support could think of could fix the Blazes step count issues.

It's great to see you around @Lozzypop and @MikeS1971. No, don't worry, a restart shouldn't take away your information. If you see that your stats are not being accurate at all, as mentioned in the previous post, feel free to contact our support team, for a faster response you can contact them via phone or chat.

See you later. Woman Wink

Support has no fix for this issue. When contacted, they're either aware of the problem and are working on it or its the first they've ever heard of this problem. All depends on who you talk to.

This all started with the software update in April. Four months is way to long to wait for a fix. Especially since it worked correctly prior to the software change.

The aftermarket came up with good solutions to FitBits poor charging method of the Blaze and the design of the frame that allows the upper and lower edges prone to damage. Unfortunately, the aftermarket can't do anything about the Blazes software.
