Blaze is not recording steps

Hello, I've read through the other issues regarding steps... my blaze is over a year old.  About a week or two I noticed my step count has been very low.  Well today, I worked, I worked out and was very active all evening and my grand total right now is 3,417 steps.  That is way off!!  I read to restart it.  I've done that.  It's still not working.  Do they only last around a year or so? Or is there something special I need to do?

Thanks for troubleshooting this by yourself. Could you please see how many steps you have so far, walk 100 steps and let me know how many the Blaze registered?
