Blaze not being accurate

Hi all,

My first Fitbit was the HR and Now the Blaze. Neither of which I could get anywhere near the true distance. The other day I ran with a friend for five miles, my GPS watch and hers was the same distance however the Blaze was 4.3 miles, 7056 steps. I have manually tried inputting stride lengths but no joy, it does seem time consuming as I was always adding or subtracting.

 

I take it there's no way of calculating the steps from either the 4.4 miles or five miles to get the stride length? that would be an easy solution lol.
