Blaze not charging

Seems to be a common problem but I dont' see the magic path to get mine up and running

 

  1. New Blaze.- fresh out of box this afternoon.
  2. been in the charger for 4 hrs now - still complaining "low battery please charge before trying again" when I try to complete the setup by updating the firmware.
  3. I have done the hard reset on the blaze (hold left middle and right lower for 10-12 seconds until it resets).
  4. when it resets - it does finally show the battery picture with 3 or so red bars at bottom of battery.
  5. when I put the blaze in the charger it never does a 'vibrate' that I see some posts say to look for to make sure the blaze is charging.
  6. no charging battery comes up on screen - only flashing 'fitbit.com/setup' then goes black pretty soon
  7. pins are clean and present (new unit).
  8. plugged the cable in to a phone /wall charger and a computer - same results.
  9. I'm thinking I need to do a return from Amazon where I purchased it but wanted to get the communities feedback first.

Well situation has been resolved.

 

Plug charger into PC - no work.

Plug charger into Samsung phone charger (new) - no work

Plug charger into USB plug on power strip - now it works.

 

Up and running.  Just not sure how I'm going to charge it while on business trips.  I don't usually travel with a power strip.

Plug charger into PC - no work.

Plug charger into Samsung phone charger (new) - no work

Plug charger into USB plug on power strip - now it works.

 

Up and running.  Just not sure how I'm going to charge it while on business trips.  I don't usually travel with a power strip.
