Blaze not counting stairs correctly

I've probably walked up 10 flights of stairs today and the Blaze hasn't budged after 4.  I love this thing but I'm really starting to question it.  Fitbit desperately needs a firmware update for this thing.

Tried shutting it down and restarting.  Even tried hanging my arm low at the bottom of the stairs and raising it high at the top to ensure I cleared 10' of elevation.

I'm experiencing the same problem. Stairs was recorded only once yesterday and 0 today and that's frustrating.

Of your ceilings are not 10 feet high it is unlikely the stair count will be correct.

They are though. I'm wondering if it's because I'm wearing a large and my wrist measurement was on the cusp of small and large. Would that make any difference. I love the Blaze so much I just want it to work properly.

I get the 10 foot thing. That's why I started with my arm low and raised it at the top of the stairs! This really should be adjustable as many people don't have 10 foot ceilings.

My stairs don't always get counted either where my charge HR is pretty accurate. I sometimes try to do a little hop at the top of the stairs, lol. I do quite a few stairs in my house each evening so it is a feature I do use quite a bit.

I just tried something that has worked. If I really rush up the stairs it does get counted. It's just worked 3 times in a row. Walking upstairs leisurely just doesn't cut it, I guess.

Im finding that the Blaze is miscounting floors the same as my Charge HR was. Most of the time going up one flight of stairs is counted as one. Sometimes its counted as two, sometimes going up and down twice is counted as one. Other times going downstairs increases the floor count and sometimes walking a few hundred steps on level ground increases the floor count.

My Charge HR didnt always do this. It started in the past few weeks and like I mentioned, the Blaze does it as well in the same way. My guess is that there is something off with the software in how floors are being calculated.

95% of the time, going up the stairs at work increases my floor count by one. Its 22 steps to the second floor, about a 12 foot increase in height. At home its 12 steps to the second floor of my house, nine feet vertically to the second floor. Going up and down will usually get me a one floor increase.
