Blaze not synching exercise automatically

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.
Hi! I just switched from a Charge HR to a Blaze this past weekend and my experience with synching has been hit/miss. On Sunday it synched a walk automatically, but on three different occasions since last Friday I've been unable to get elliptical exercises automatically synched.

On all occasions, the workouts were all about one-hour long, so it's not a duration issue. I don't like tracking them manually as I always forget to turn it off.. Not a good option for me, especially when the auto tracking feature already exists and should work as intended.

I've restarted the unit several times, updated the app on my android, restarted my phone, nothing. All else is synching fine, it's just not registering elliptical exercises.

Thanks in advance for the help!

A warm welcome to the Community @Santag. Have you been selecting "Elliptical" from your Blaze at the moment of doing the exercise? If you haven't, I recommend selecting directly from the tracker this exercise so it can register it and log it to your account.

If you don't have the "Elliptical" option on your tracker, you can put it there by doing the following from your Android Fitbit app:

1. Tap Blaze

2. Tap Exercise Shortcuts

3. Tap More Exercises

4. Select Elliptical

5. Tap Add to Blaze

6. Sync

Let me know the outcome. Woman Happy

No, that is manual tracking, that is what I meant that I should not need to be doing.

The HR recorded elliptical workouts and synched then automatically without me having to select anything before the workout and stopping it manually when I'm done. Does the Blaze not do this?

Hello @Santag! Yes your Blaze has the SmartTrack detection, if your tracker is not detecting your elliptical workout please make sure you have this feature turned "On" and you are exercising for time you have selected. To review your settings click here. If all the settings are correct and your tracker is not detecting your exercise please try to restart it, after the restart your tracker should work as expected.

Let me know how it goes! 🙂

@SantagTo ensure your tracker is detecting the Exercise movement I would recommend you set all of the modes to the minimum of 10 minutes.

I found Fitbit does a reasonable job of "Trying" to fit the Exercise pattern.  When it does interpret the movements I have found the calorie burn to be fairly accurate.

For instance, for me, heavy overhead gardening including pruning was seen as Aerobics.  Yard work was seen as Sport and kneeling with heavy weeding was seen as Cycling.

I find it detects walking perfectly.

I have left the modes I use to 10 minutes and those I don't want to

90 minutes.

Hi,

Thanks for the responses. Per the original post, the workout time was approximately 60 minutes and the tracking time is still set to the default, so duration is not an issue. Also per the original post, it's tracking other activities just fine, so it's not a setting issue.

Tried again today and it tracked the elliptical automatically, finally. The only change was that I tightened the band significantly, as I read someone else report on this forum.

Thanks all for the help.

Hello @Santag thanks for your reply, I'm glad to know that after tightening the band of your Blaze your elliptical workout is being recorded. 🙂 @Colinm39 thanks for your cooperation 🙂

I'll be around if you have any questions! 🙂
