Blaze not syncing to app

Hi,

My Blaze is not automatically syncing with my Andriod App.  The App is set to "all day sync."  I have toggled that off and then back on.  I have restarted my phone.  I have restarted my Blaze.  It still will not automatically sync to the app - I have to open the App and sync to get it to update.

I have used many trackers - the surge, Charge, and Charge HR -- and did not encounter this issue with any of these.  I still use the Surge and it continues to automatically sync despite the Blaze's failure to do the same.

Please help!!  This is driving me crazy.  Thanks!

Fitbit Blaze is no syncing with my PC app or my iPhone app. Will not record my steps on either. Ever since I got my Afia scale.

To sync to the computer, uou will want to move the phone 30 feet away or turn its Bluetooth off.

Have you restarted the Blaze by holding the left and lower right buttons?

Restarted the phone or computer?

Same thing happening to me. My Blaze has worked seamlessly for 10 months therefore I am having trouble understanding this. have tried all the troubleshooting and have removed it from the ap. Now I cannot get it back!! Will try again. Thank heavens I kept my Charge HR!!

Recently received the Fitbit Blaze as a gift from my wife, upgrade from my Fitbit One.

Have run into sync problems the past 24 hours, tried the following:

1. Stop and start bluetooth

2. Reinstall fitbit application for android

3. Reset blaze by holding buttons.

4. Clear fitbit app cache.

Nothing seems to work, it went from not syncing to not being able to find the tracker.

After reading some posts here, I disabled my Wifi antenna (which was not connected to wifi as I am at work and it's just on looking for available networks) and restarted the app.

Suddenly I am able to sync again, so it seems that Bluetooth and Wifi on my Moto Z running Android 7.0 are conflicting with each other preventing the Blaze from syncing.

What's interesting is that this was never an issue with the Fitbit One, the Blaze must be using a different Bluetooth connection method/version.

Anyone know the details?

Ok so I spoke too soon, still playing up.

Have now tried disabling battery optimisation for Bluetooth as per android discussion forums.

Can't believe the Blaze has this many problems.

The open source vomunity is still trying to figure out what has changed with the syncing of the new trackers. They have had no problems ayncing the old ones through the Galileo project.

This change has affected some android phones, and causes by the fact that most Android phones share one antenna for Bluetooth and wifi. Their frequencies are close.

As a test, paired the Blaze with my old Samsung S3 handset running Android Kitkat 4.4.4 and everything JUST WORKS AMAZINGLY WELL.

Sync works first time, Blaze connects and stays connected in app. Notifications work first time, everytime. So it just proves to me that the Blaze hardware is working well and that the Fitbit for Android app is just not designed to cater for newer versions of Android.

It is really a terrible experience on my flagship Moto Z running Android Nougat 7.0. Syncing takes forever, so many errors, bluetooth dropping connection in and out. Blaze won't connect to phone to start workouts, notifications has only worked twice.

Seriously, how hard is it to write the app to work with Nougat!!!

It probably is no harder than it was to write an app for Marshmallow or Lollipop both of them when first released, it also took a little while to troubleshoot. Fitbit doesn't just add software, but embeds there drivers into the OS.  To add to this, unlike Apple products, every Android manufacturer has their own hardware, sometimes requiring a specific write for a specific model. As a 4 year+ user of fitbits  i see this with every new release of Android.

Remember to at least turn off your BT on the other phone to keep the tracker from bonding to the wrong phone.

Mine is doing the same thing. The past two morning I check my Fitbit app and it says "looking..." I wait for it to sync and it doesn't do I got to Bluetooth and it's not syncing there. I have to turn off my blaze and turn it back on and choose "pair" and then reconnect it and then go. And then go back to me app. So annoying!

I'm about ready to throw mine out.

Since switching phones to an Android, i've had nothing but problems with synching with the Blaze. Sometimes it says fitbit.com not found.....or my device isn't found....or it just spins.

It hasn't sent me a text message or phone call notice in over 3 weeks. Nothing changed with my set-up.

At the moment the clock on it is 12 hours and 5 minutes behind. It's counting steps from yesterday as today because of this...and it hasn't performed a synch since last Thursday. It's normal for it to go days without synching. It doesn't matter what i do with the bluetooth or the wifi or restarting it, or deleting and reinstalling the application. It just doesn't synch or give me notices.

i can't even do the challenges, which is the original reason for buying it.

And now, it's not even usuable as a watch.

Having the same issue, stopped syncing yesterday and manual sync does not seem to resolve.  I've rebooted my Android, the blaze and reset my Bluetooth connection.  I wish I had gone with the Garmin watch, the Blaze has far too many issues.  I would not recommend this device to any of my friends, in fact I now warn them that Fitbit is problematic and they should find something else.

Same problem.  I use a workaround.  Synching the Blaze works OK when I use a data connection with android, but if I use WIFI connection it doesn't work.

@jneilson23 this would be a problem particular to your phone.

Since WiFi and Bluetooth are using the same name, Android chose to share an antenna for both. Some phones are not optimized to use Bluetooth and WiFi st the same time.

Apple iPhone chose to use the same integrated chipset & antenna for wifi and bluetooth as well, this is not an problem exclusive to android hardware.
