Blaze not syncing to app

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Hi,

My Blaze is not automatically syncing with my Andriod App.  The App is set to "all day sync."  I have toggled that off and then back on.  I have restarted my phone.  I have restarted my Blaze.  It still will not automatically sync to the app - I have to open the App and sync to get it to update.

I have used many trackers - the surge, Charge, and Charge HR -- and did not encounter this issue with any of these.  I still use the Surge and it continues to automatically sync despite the Blaze's failure to do the same.

Please help!!  This is driving me crazy.  Thanks!

I've been having a rotten time with the blaze, had it over a week. I've had the charge HR for over a year and had no problems with it at all. Moving to the blaze has been a nightmare.

First off the blaze had real problems syncing with my Moto g (3rd gen 2015) that I'd recently updated to android 6.0. I found that moving back to Android 5.1.1 solved most of my sync problems with the blaze when it was the only tracker on my account.

However, I found that if I had both the charge HR and the blaze on my fitbit account I could end up in an endless failing sync cycle. Once this started to occur it was stuck and all in all useless. I've been through alot of fitbit support calls and made no progress. I was at the point of returning the flaming thing.

I have however made some progress it seems through trial and error. It's not perfect but at least I now seem to be able to use both trackers.

First, to get out of the endless sync cycle

- turn off bluetooth to stop any current syncs

- go into the fitbit app settings (in andoid) and clear data and cache

- when you go back into you need to log in again to the fitbit account.

Then I have the charge HR setup as :

- disabled all day sync

- disabled always connected.

The blaze is setup as:

- disabled all day sync

- enabled always connected.

The idea with this is to avoid any failed sync in the background and give the blaze a kind of priority.

When I open the fitbit app it will then try and sync both devices. I leave the fitbit app open on the screen until the sync completes but I'm only doing this once a day or so.

Notifications seem to be working fine in this setup and I've been able to switch between using the trackers now.

The blaze seems a mess, along with their plans for multiple trackers. I do now at least seem to have a workable setup but it's been really, really painful.

Hope some of this helps someone.

MIne has been doing the same thing.... Go to your watch and go to settings. Turn it off. Let it set for a few minutes and the hold your button (left side) down until it comes back on. Then go to your app and turn your bluetooth off and then back on and the app should catch it. Mine is now syncing after missing 7 days worth. Hope this helps!

What's been working for me is alternating devices. I have my blaze linked to my phone and tablet (both iOS). If I open the app on my phone and it can't find my blaze, I open the app on my tablet and it syncs no problem. After a while tablet stops syncing and I sync with my phone. It is slightly inconvenient, but I usually have both devices easily in reach and works consistently for me.

I have the same problem, suddenly my Blaze is not syncing any more. Before sunday it worked, since sunday ist doesn't, says it can't find my tracker. Syncing to my PC still works. I tried all the things that are described, and after a while it did sync on tuesday. But only on tuesday, since then it again doesn't, tried again everything in different order, again and again, but it doesn't work. Must be a really big bug...

If anybody has a new solution, please tell.

@SunsetRunner I bought it March 21st and got it March 24. I should have taken a hint then because from the moment I opened it, I had syncing issues and I had to call Fit Bit support. After an hour and a half of troubleshooting, it finally worked.

The problems began again after they released their last update and then it would not sync anymore no matter what I did. I deleted the app and downloaded it again (several times), I unpaired it several times, I cleared the cache as someone suggested and it synced but when it finally started doing the update what the app said would take 10 minutes was up to 2 hours and still no update. That day I had enough and I returned it.

Whether or not you can return it depends on where you bought it. I bought mine at Walmart and they have a 90-day return policy. Places like Best Buy only give you 10 days but if you pay an additional $69 it's covered for pretty much everything.  Amazon gives you 30 days if they are the ones that ship and will give you a full refund.

I have a Samsung phone so I purchased the Samsung Gear S2 Classic. So far it's amazing and offers so much more than the Fit Bit Blaze. No syncing issues. No popping the face out to charge it. I get the weather, heart rate, it lets me know if I am inactive for too long, counts my steps, I get notifications that I can reply to, I can read the news, there are 100's of watch face options, you can use Samsung pay and it connects to S Health which gives you tips on eating and staying healthy, it looks like a really nice watch so you can wear it anytime and you can also buy different bands if to make it more casual. I highly recommend buying it at Walmart because you would have plenty of time to decide if it's right for you. And the negative is that it costs more but to me it was totally worth it 🙂

Best of luck,

Liz

@gangbuster047 Best Buy gives you 15 days so get a move on if you have not returned it as of yet. My Blaze wasn't syncing to anything and I couldn't even download the computer app because it had issues. No more Fit Bit for me. I am so disappointed and by the way even though this is a customer forum, I did see a comment in the beginning of this thread from a Fit Bit rep and it did not help and frankly this is where they should be checking for customer grievances.

@coachliz I'm tempted ro say that you must be one of the luckt ones, in that a,search brings up many, just like it does with a fitbit search, many pages of sync problems with a Samsung gear. Please remember that many more people are quiet on this subject because their trackers just work.
For me every update with the firmware, or app has been smothing out the problems.

I do see that Samsung lacks a few things, the ability to work with Apple and Microsoft watches, the awsome Fitbit comunity, and the awsome challanges to keep motivated.

I recently upgraded from a Flex to the Blaze.  At first, syncing worked fine but have noticed over the past few weeks, it has stopped working and I am experiencing all the things described here.  I am very frustrated with this upgrade, and now, I just signed up for HealthyRoads through work to get points for discounts on my health insurance and this is a part of the point system.  If it doesn't sync each day, I don't get my points.

When I first got my blaze I tried downloading the windows 10 app to connect it to my pc. I tried for hours to get it to update for the first time and complete the setup. I decided I needed to let it charge overnight. The next day I called customer support because it wasn't working still. Even after talking things through with them they could not get my Blaze to update through the windows 10 app. Instead I had to install the android app and was able to complete the setup that way. However, I was unable to sync after that. After trouble shooting it the problem was the fact that I had it connected to my computer as well as my phone. My computer was unable to communicate correctly with the Blaze and was causing it to not be able to sync, not even with my phone app. So I was stuck with an unsyncable device. Finally I removed the blaze from my account and uninstalled the app from my computer and connected the blaze to my phone only. I was able to sync just fine after that and haven't had any issues since.

For anyone experiencing syncing issues, try and narrow it down to a specific device that is causing the trouble.

In my case, that device was my computer. Something about my computer was not compatible with the windows app and it also caused my account to get messed up and not be able to sync to any device.

Syncing issues are the most frustrating, I know. But once those get resolved the Blaze is great. Good luck.

Exactly the same problem. Sometimes it takes me 40 minutes of trying different configs to get a sync. No way this can be right.

Hi Erick @ErickFitbit

I see that a lot of us are having issues with syncing our blaze through our phones. My blaze is only syncing every couple of days, after lots of messing around, despite 'Always connected' switched on.

Are you working on fixing this? I've tried all of the steps at various points and sometimes one of them works, but often none of them do. I don't expect to have to keep messing around to try and get my watch to sync it's data every day. How long does the data stay on the watch? If my watch doesn't sync for a long time is there a risk I might lose the data?

Surely after counting steps this is the second most important function? Without it I might as well have bought a cheap pedometer instead of a blaze!

After being initially wowed by my blaze I am slowly losing faith in it, I don't bother with notifications any more as they were so unreliable, the alarm is almost useless, I'm still waiting for the promised time to move reminders and these sync issues are making me wonder whether I should have looked for an alternative tracker.

Looks like this will be my first and last fitbit Smiley Sad

The hard reset worked for me. Press left button and bottom right at the same time. for the reset. I also turned off wifi and bluetooth and then only turned on bluetooth after the reset. It synced straight away after 5 hrs of zero connection.

@bluezoar what habe you tried to correct this. Did the hard reset and/or restarting the phone/computer help?

I often have to re-start my Galaxy S4 smartphone -- 1 or 2 reboots clears whatever blocks the synch and then it goes smoothly.

Don't ask me why.....

@ErickFitbit is there any news on this issue? I've received a couple of updates to my app but still my blaze won't sync reliably.

When will I be able to use my blaze properly? I can live without notifications, even though they should work, but surely the main reason for getting a fitbit is the tracking and history?

Maybe I should have saved my money and just bought a pedometer, a pen and some paper...

My sync now is working. About two weeks ago I got a new update for my app. The next day sync started immediately and worked fine which it does now every day.

Having the exact same issue and I am about done with this product. I have unpaired and paired,  turn my bluetooth on and off, uninstalled and reinstalled the app, rebooted my phone and still not syncing.  I did get it to sync this morning after re-pairing it but some of my workouts are missing or inaccurate. Says during my 56 minute walk last night, I burned 50 calories, but that is not what the tracker said last night.  I have emailed support and waiting to hear their response.  At this point, am seriously thinking of getting rid of this. Question is to what next....

I have done everything you have said to do -- over and over and over -- and still have to keep doing it to get this to work. So over it and to the point of getting rid of dump it.  So very disappointed.  I have been a loyal fan of Fitbit until now -- I started with the Flex (which by the way, for being low-end and no functionality, was FAR more accurate and dependable than the Blaze, and I never had an issue syncing it), and I have bought the Charge HR for both my sons and my boyfriend -- but I'm about done with the Blaze.  Now to figure out to what.
