I got my Blaze for Christmas. I have a few issues, though.
I have read through the posts about walking distance on the treadmill. I have issues with the "resolutions" posted by a few people . . . not moving arm, having hand on leg, etc. I'm sorry, I don't walk like that. I do swing my arms a bit, and only hold the side bars if I look around the gym.
Another issue . . . I went to the Y today and did 5k on the elliptical. My total distance was 5.5 kilometers, which would put me a bit over 3 miles. Yet, the Blaze only credited me for 2.15 miles. But, the step numbers Blaze counted match the avg. strides/min x duration on the elliptical.
How can I correct these numbers? The steps seem accurate when I am walking outside.

When it comes to the treadmill the blaze can not measure distance. It needs to calculate it. First thing we need to check is step count, then it is simply a small math equation to set the stride.
As for the elliptical. The machine is giving you a virtual distance based on how far the machine would travel based on the spinning wheel. The tracker on your arm has no way of knowing how many revolutions the wheel has turned or the circumference of the wheel. Both will be needed to determine the imaginary distance the user has traveled.
