Blaze re-charging error message

My Blaze has been performing wonderfully well and I'm a big fan.

But today, for the first time, when I attached it via its cradle to my laptop I received an error message - USB device not recognised. The USB device you attached has malfunctioned and Windows does not recognise it (slightly paraphrasing).

It DOES appear to be charging, however.

Anyone know what's going on?

And should I be concerned about the "malfunction"?

I'm running Windows 10.

Your blaze has the ability to comunicate with Fitbit through its charging cable, apparently it was not detected by Windows correctly. This is not a charging error but a comunication error.

Point taken.

Any idea what might - suddenly - have caused the communication error?

I say " suddenly" because I've changed nothing on my system and the error message has never shown up before.
