Hi,
I started a workout recently, and stopped half way through as I had been called in to coach some junior soccer.
I accidentally left on my "weights" workout, from roughly 4:30pm until 8:00pm
In this time, I burned unusually high calories and went well above my calorie goal for the day.
Coaching was in very high temps, but i was only mildly active just assisting players with showing them drills. The fitbit said i burned roughly 150 calories in each 15 minute period of coaching....which cannot be true as i spend a lot of time stopping and starting while i am explaining and demonstrating.
My question is, does the fitbit calculate at a higher rate when you have a workout running? If so, is it best to never log workouts and just let the HR monitor do its thing?
Thanks,

@michaelreadWelcome, I find this because of my age my fat burning HR starts at 72 bpm and when I examine the Activity Log on the PC I will have inflated calorie burn where the HR has peaked. I don't think it has anything to do with the Workout, just the HR
Since I started using the Blaze in early 2016 the difference in comparing my Fitbit One, and I only do walking, with 2015 my average daily steps for 2016 have gone up 4.3% and my calorie burn 13.9%. My weight has been stable. I have a RHR of 48 and on a 47 minute planned walk the other day my Polar HR ave 100 bpm with a calorie burn of 389 and the Blaze showed 338 with 45/47 active minutes.
Ironically I had to make an adjustment in my Polar because it defaults to a VO2max in the Superior range because of my low HR so I had to do the Rockport Walk Test to adjust that.
I did that because in February it is mentioned that Fitbit will bring out the Vo2 and the Relaxed Breathing options on the Blaze. See this link for the Charge HR2
As another interesting fact my RHR went up over Christmas New year, some alcohol but mainly sleeping temperatures at night in the 30oC range and 33-37oC during the day..
Here is the Graph..
