Blaze replacement for the Surge.

I am writing to express my displeasure with Fitbit. I have been using my Fitbit Surge for one year as of today, and I am very happy with all of the features, gps, fitness tracking etc. During this past year I have had my Fitbit Surge replaced twice, due to band failures. Although this was an inconvenience, customer service made the entire process very easy. The last time I needed a replacement was seven days prior to the end of my warranty. Now after my warranty has expired I see that Fitbit has a new fitness tracker, the Blaze, that does everything a surge can and has replaceable bands. You can only imagine my disappointment that I was never offer a Blaze As a replacement for my damaged Fitbit Surge( after all the Fitbit Surge band issue is well known problem). Once again Fitbit has put corporate profits ahead of customer satisfaction. Once my Fitbit Surge band fails again, and it will, I will be looking into other Fitness trackers as a replacement.

Yes, there is. Although I have not used it yet. Appears similar to the SURGE

I do like the slimmer fit of the BLAZE

@Wilsondesign - The volume is controlled by the right hand side 2 buttons.

Hi, @xct87 , the Blaze has the same workout options as the Surge, which can be accessed via your app (if you need more info, please let us know which app you are using and what exercise options you want to add.). I believe the timer function also works the same as the Surge. Could you let us know what problem you are seeing?

Negative Ghostrider. Went to the Exercise Shortcuts on my APP. It has 6 options listed with no option to add others. In fact, at the bottom it states 'your BLAZE is fully loaded'
The SURGE had about 6+ additional options that could be switched out and edited with the ones that came pre-loaded. 'Circuit Training' and 'Golf' were two in particular that i had previously used
Regarding the timer, i was hoping from the hype that there would be additional options over the standard countdown / stopwatch option. ie; intermittent timer, tabata option

Hi, @xct87 , like the Surge you can have 7 exercises loaded at a time. "Circuit training" and "Golf" are both available. Which app are you using? Here are pictures from my app.

<li-user login="xct87" uid="5655992"></li-user> by falling short, i assume you mean falls short of your expectations.
I did not have any expectations of the Blaze and have been very happy. For this activities tracker, it does what an activity tracker is to do. While on a walk, it is as a curate as my other 6 Fitbits. 1000 steps gives me 1000 ÷/- 5, on all but the One and Zip, which are +/- 1 step.
As fot workout options they seem to be pretty much the same.

You are correct, from some of the reviews it falls a little short of my personal expectations. I certainly like the slimmer profile and it is a better fit than the SURGE

I just purchased the BLAZE last night and updated when I synched my device. Only the standard shortcuts are listed and the +Exercise Shortcut is not highlighted so I can not add or change. Not sure why mine is nto current

You should definitely be able to edit and to add the shortcuts you prefer. Which app are you using? If you are using IPhone, click on "Edit" at the top. When you delete an unwanted exercise, the option to add will come up.

Julia, appreciate the photos of your options. I even checked to make sure my APP is current and still do not show any additional options

Awesome! The volume buttons work great (even though the Bluetooth signal
is not as fast as a hard wired connection).

I want to suggest that the BLAZE volume buttons work (quick press) from the
home screen since they don't activate anything now. Perhaps the side
buttons can have user preference actions to select from... I.e. Volume or
programable shortcut keys for instance.

Are you using the iPhone app? Click on "Edit" top right on the exercise shortcuts screen, amd delete unwanted exercises. Then the "add shortcuts" option won't be greyed out.

If not iPhone app, please say which one.

They won't replace it even now for a surge even though blaze is there in the market

Also dissapointed. I originally bought the hr charge and had to have it replaced due to the band issue. After that one went out (both happening with in a few months) i decided to buy the blaze because of the band and figured it would last way longer. WRONG! I has lasted me 3 months!!!! The battery doesn't last more than a few hrs! I'm charging it at least 4 times a day!

Very disappointed with what Fitbit is producing.

Hi, @Melindamr, have you tried a restart on your Blaze? Sometimes that can help when you are experiencing battery issues.

Also, to prolong the life of the battery the best advice is not to allow deep discharge too often. For best results keep it charged between 30 - 80%.

My Blaze is almost one year old and the battery lasts 5-6 days.

Here are some more tips for best battery life. If after reading these, and restarting your Blaze, you still need to charge 4 times a day, I would suggest getting in touch with Fitbit Customer Support at contact.fitbit.com . They will be able to take a closer look and see whether something is causing that unusual discharge.

If they had sent u one, u would have been even more disappointed. My Surge now holding a charge for 1.5 days, out of warranty. This was a replacement over one year ago due to hardware issues. This is the Fiat of Exercise watches. I am going to Garmin (very complicated) or Polar.
