Posting this for my girlfriend as she isn't all that internet savvy.....
I'm having trouble getting my Blaze to respond to anything while it's not in it's charging cradle.. If it's in the band, it acts like it's completely dead, no response from pushing buttons,etc.
Once I put it in the cradle, it wakes up, shows the correct time, and responds to touches. The clock face she picked allows her to cycle through her goals for the day, and while it's charging, she can. Swiping up shows her media player interface, and swiping down shows her notifications... nothing happens if you swipe left or right (I was trying to power it down via the settings menu with no luck)...
Like I said, there's no button response, so doing a hard restart by holding the left and bottom right buttons for 10-12 seconds (I believe I've held them for as long as a minute while cursing at this thing) isn't getting me anywhere.
Any suggestions?

I would contact support. Sounds like she has done all that she can

Hi there @GerardYoder. Great to see you in the Community Forums and it's a great gesture for you to do this for your girlfriend.
I would be able to escalate your case to the Support Team for them to help you out but since this is for your girlfriend, I would need her email address and other details, so in that situation, I would recommend what @WendyB suggested of getting in touch with the Support Team and I'm very positive they will be happy to help her out.
