Blaze step tracking and stair count

Does anyone else have a Blaze that appears to be over tracking steps and flights of stairs. Wore mine for 1st time yesterday and tracked over 450 steps each way on my drive to and from work. Also reckoned I'd climbed 38 flights of stairs...I wish!
I've changed the settings to dominant to see if that slows it down a bit but wondered if anyone else was having similar issues.

Depending on how rough your cat ride is, every tracker on the market will credit you with steps diving a bumpy ride. Thos is becaise ypir am is moving up and down as it would while walking. As for stairs was only one window open, thos could produce a low pressie situation and give flights of stairs.

Kept an eye on it in journey to work and after it added another 700 steps took it off (only part way through journey) Journey is bumpy so guess the comment is right although my flex didn't use to clock up anything like that amount. Also added 15 flights of stairs. No windows open in car. Journey is hilly so not sure about if it's pressure causing it. Won't really be fit for purpose at this rate

Your fitbit looks at changes in air pressie to determine when you have climbed 10 feet.

Hi, @LM63 , with your Flex you may have been unaware of the steps you were getting from driving -- I certainly was until I switched to a tracker that gave me numbers on my wrist (Charge HR). There are basically 3 ways you can deal with this.

1. You can log "driving" as @Rich_Laue has suggested (follow his link)
2. You can use your commute to charge your Fitbit via a car charger, as it won't count steps or stairs while it is plugged in
3. For iOS and Android users you can download a free app called DriveBit which works very easily and will automatically log driving for you.

The disadvantage of methods 1 and 3 is that they produce an exercise log which gives credit for exercise goals -- and if you are tracking how many times a week you workout, it throws off your logs (well, that's my view, anyway). My unofficial solution is to take off my tracker and tuck it into my bra, as it will not record steps from driving when worn on your core.

I hope this helps!

Thanks to all. So far my commute has logged 2298 steps so a fair chunk of the 10k. From checking the number of steps compared to mileage that was stored from flex days there is a difference, but it's within about 500 steps so the Blaze may just be a bit more sensitive. I think I've a few alternatives open to me 1) up the target steps by 2k 2)change my target to distance rather than steps 3) take it off in the car
Stairs are pointless if it's picking up the hills I drive up and down, but I never had them on the flex so won't miss it.
Will check out the 'driving' option and see if I can work it.
