I love my Fitbit Blaze and I know for me gamification really does work. I'm working hard to reach my goals and turn all the circles green each day. I've increased the number of workout and the number of steps I'm talking daily. When I pass my daily step goal I get a notification calling me an "over achiever". I know the fitbit is just trying to let me know I've passed my target number of steps, but I DO NOT like being called an over acheiver! Being called an over acheiver makes me feel like I'm being a show off and it's kind of defeating. I'm trying to reach my health goals and if I take additional steps that's great! I'd much rather be praised and encouraged with notifications saying something like "way to go, you've surpassed your goal by xxx number of steps", "yahoo! You did it!" "keep up the good work, you're a walking machine" or "You've passed your goal the past xxx number of days how about increasing your goal? Just a thought.
Thanks for listening.

I think different people respond to different styles of this sort of thing. Some prefer to have a very reasonable goal and a pat on the back when they surpass it (showing off), while others want a very difficult goal and encouragement to get as close to it as they can (you can do this!). Just changing the goal as @WendyB suggested will help tailor things to your preference.
