Blaze syncing issues

My iPhone 7 with iOS 11.2.1 will only sync with my Blaze if I close the app, then turn Bluetooth off and on again from my iPhone. I then reload the app and sync it and it works. Why is this?

 

I haven't used it for 2 months but it worked fine then. I have updated the Blaze firmware and I'm using the latest iOS. I've been through all the help suggestions but can't work out where I'm going wrong. Any suggestions please?
