Blaze - tracks running distance but not cycling

I have used my blaze to track running mileage successfully. When I start my 'bike' activity from my watch it does not track mileage at all. It tracks time, heart rate, etc but will not track distance. I have restarted my watch, updated my app, checked location services, etc.

Could you have turned GPS off in the bike mode? Before hitting start press the gear and check, without GPS Fitbit has nothing to look at to determine distance. Did the blaze connect to the gps of the phone?

I have a Blaze paired with an iphone 5. I pressed the wheel and it shows that GPS is on, but I do not get any recording of mileage while cycling??
