Blaze water damaged

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I wore my Blaze in the shower for the first time last week. I thought it was waterproof given there is swimming option on exercise mode. However, it clearly isn't as it has since stopped working, wont charge, screen is black, won't reset, anything.

I've had it for 14 months, purchased from Argos, is there a repair or replace option available?

A swimming option in exercise mode? Not here.

It's supposed to be water resistant, not water proof.

And it has a 12 Month warranty which you're past. Good luck though.

It's great to welcome you @JE99 and @MarkMM thanks for stopping by.

As mentioned by our friend @MarkMM, the Blaze is not waterproof is water resistant, you can take a look at our Can I swim or shower with my tracker? article for more information. Now, I recommend keeping an eye on your inbox for further information.

Catch you later. Woman Happy

Yes, I checked on that early on before using the shower and found that Fitbit don't support it being used in the shower. I know about the problems this can cause and thought about the main problem that would cause it.

I think the primary reason that they don't support using it in the shower is because some people have the water temperature set quite high especially if they live in cold climates. The heat would definitely not be good for it I expect.

In saying this, I've owned a blaze for about roughly 15 months and never take it off, wear it in the shower every day. Only taking it off when it needs charging every 4 - 5 or so days. Only really started doing this as a test after a few

The reason I believe that mine hasn't experienced any problems is because where I live is quite hot most of the year. So in summer, I have an almost cold shower in the mornings which is quite refreshing in this climate. In winter, the water temperature is warm, but I don't usually make it too hot.

The point i'm making here is that if my theory is correct, then you can risk voiding your Fitbit warranty as an experiment if you're lazy like myself and couldn't be bothered taking it off each morning. I did sometimes hold my arm at a right angle and try to minimise water run off to it if possible, but gave mostly gave up on that now.

Just be careful and anything is possible.

I checked your link and dont see any info on the blaze. Do they make a waterproof case that would work for swimming?

Welcome to the Forums @Rife51.

My recommendation here is not to swim with your Blaze to avoid any damage to it. For more information about it, check the help article Can I swim or shower with my Fitbit device?.

keep the stepping up. Robot Happy
