Burning Way Too Many Calories When I Sleep

Hello all,

So, whenever I take off my fitbit for the night (I don't like sleeping with it on) I always wake up with WAY too many calories already burned. I'm aware of BMR and i've double checked my settings (I'm 6'2" and 220), but i'm talking 2000 -- 4000 burned. Is there any way to prevent this? It's really screwing up my data for the weeks.

Hi @Drewac.

Any chance the heart rate setting is set to 'on'? If set to on, it's always on, when taking the tracker off and placed on a surface it will keep trying monitoring heart rate, since it's reading the sky instead.. it leads to false high heart rate readings.

When set to automatic, heart rate stops monitoring as soon not sensing any movement when placed on a surface.. the green lights go out (indicating not measuring heart rate).. as soon it's picked up, it automatically turns on again.

The heart rate setting can be changed in the settings on the tracker itself.

@Drewac. if @SunsetRunner suggestion doesn't solve the problem, try restart your Blaze three times.

Welcome to the Fitbit Community @Drewac., keep us posted if you continue to see too many calories burnt upon waking up

Awesome @SunsetRunner, @bbarrera, thanks for sharing this information, I'm sure it'd certainly be very useful to get more accurate data.
