I have a new Blaze and I cannot finish setup as I am unable to update the firmware. My android app fails to update almost immediately, while my Mac software tells me I need to turn on bluetooth, which is already on. Can I update it via USB?

Can't update on windows either because it wants me to plug in a dongle, which was not included with my device. Very frustrated at this point.

The Fitbit Connect software for Mac has a bug in that on older Macs that do not support Bluetooth 4.0 LE, it gives a message that Bluetooth is not turned on instead of an error with useful information.
You can check whether or not your Mac supports Bluetooth 4.0 LE by looking at the Bluetooth section of the System Information.
"Bluetooth Low Energy Supported" will be "Yes" and "LMP Version" will be 0x6 (or higher) if your Mac supports Bluetooth 4.0 LE.
If your Mac does not support Bluetooth 4.0 LE you will need the Wireless sync dongle that Fitbit used to include with its trackers, but stopped including with its newest trackers. From the posts of others in these forums it appears that one can contact support and they will send you this dongle for free.

Also can't update Blaze to complete setup. New tracker, just out of box. Windows 10 using USB charging device included in packaging, per instructions. Have attempted restart, see logo, Fitbit app shows half charged, etc. But of course the tracker is useless at the moment. The screen just shows the logo and says fitbit.com/setup.

I have the same problem and I've been on a chat with Fitbit support. They are sending me a replacement. This is the second replacement since my original was not holding a charge, wasn't recording my sleep, and eventually refused to sync. I'm very frustrated with Fitbit at this point. The one I now have is just a useless veg. I can't complete the setup because I can't download the update which Fitbit support says is necessary for the setup. I think that maybe this is just an issue when running from Windows 10. Anyway I've lost confidence in Fitbit.

It's great to see you around @hightechbill. I would like to know if you keep having problems updating your tracker? If you do, I recommend checking this post where @Rich_Laue is providing good tips to fix this inconvenience. About the setup, please confirm you are following the correct setup procedure from your Windows 10.
Hope to hear from you soon.
