Calories Burned too high

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

It is almost 7am and my fitbit is showing that I burned 4,863 calories.  This is not possible. Calorie count has been going crazy the last three days. Please let me know how I can fix this.

Is the 4800 calories from midnight or is it not resetting at all?  In any case it looks like the software on the device has gone bonkers. If you have not yet tried it go ahead and restart the unit (just like rebooting a computer) using the steps on this page.  Restart it about 3 times to make sure it takes. See if this clears up the issue.

Bonkers. Mine is undertracking today. Normally my BMR is about 13cal per 15 minutes and today it's showing 1 cal per 15 minutes. Also it tracking my run this afternoon. Wth happened?!

Yes, that was since midnight.  Apparently, according to my blaze, I'm losing about 15 calories every 15 min.  I tried to reset 3x, but it didn't change anything.  It is now 4pm and my fitbit says 5,685 calories burned.

Odd.  OK, one more thing to check - this is a real long shot. Go to your personal profile info on this page and check what it has for your gender, age, height and weight.

If those are correct then the only thing I can think of is to get in touch with Fitbit support and see if they can figure it out. You can either call, email or chat on this site.

Hope you figure it out.

I checked height and weight this morning. I actually couldn't find gender but I'm not sure it would make a difference. One calorie every 15 minutes would make me pretty much deceased no matter what gender I am. Breathing takes more calories than that. I'm a solutions oriented person, so to solve this I went and bought myself a Garmin last night.

So, I nearly ran out the battery and then I turned it off all night and charged it and today it seems to be working right... weird!
