When I wake up and have done no exercise my fitbit says I have burnt calories already? How is this correct or am I getting confused.

My total today is 2527 calories burnt but I don’t know if this is correct.

You are always burning calories just to stay alive.  This is your BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate).  Fitbit includes these, even crediting them when you are not wearing the tracker.  For most people, BMR account for more than half of daily calorie burn.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.

So does this mean at the end of the day the amount of calories showing will actually be correct?
